^ Second thought's it does sound like Federer.

It wasn't Federer, Djokovic, Nadal or Murray.

At first it did sound like Gilbus....then I dont know why I said Novak....just came into my head
Then I thought about it and it did sound like Federer...

Last thought....not Stan the Man?

You got it.

That is a funny quote coming from Stan Wawrinka given that he has never won a GS.

None of the following have picked RN:

Steve Tignor, Pete Bodo, Jon Wertheim, Greg Garber, Courtney Nguyen

The list seems to be steadily growing.

Well this has been the source of his confidence, no? This is what he repeats in the shower every morning and it's not like it's not true. He has beat them all.

Who among these picked the correct winner of the AO? That's the person I want to follow.

It's fighting talk. No doubt about that. If he genuinely thinks that the outcome of a match depends very much on him then great. He clearly thinks he is the man.

I've never been a fan of that sort of talk. Even when a player has the results to back it up. It just makes me want to root for their opponent.

For all his cockiness he's been as up and down all season as a 2 dolla ho.

But, as GG pointed out, Stan has beaten all other contenders of this RG
( Rafa, Novak, Fed and Ferrer) at least once this year.

I guess we may as well hand him the trophy then. Stan is the man.

Top candidates for unnamed player:

1st Roiund: None
2nd Round: Dominic Thiem
3rd Round: Tamar Gabashville
4th Round: Delbonis/Haas/Almagro

Players have names starting from QF definitely. Also, the dirt devil will round
up to form if not taken out before QF.

I don't know which idiot posted the above message. Rafa has a combined
20-1 record against all the folks named above together. I agree with Peter
Bodo. Thiem has the best chance of being the unnamed player. He is the type
of player who can hit Rafa off the court; besides, he has never lost to Rafa ;)
Also, the earlier you try to do it, the easier it is and he is there in 2nd round.
One more issue: Thiem has a (beautiful) one handed backhand, but we don't
know whether it will hold up against DD.

^ Well Stan could do what Courier did in 1992 win both the AO and RG

I was thinking about this the other day. An awfully long time for it not to have happened again, especially considering guys like Federer and Nadal.

However, I don't feel as if Stan is going to be the one to do it next. Just a feeling. As Front points out, Stan hasn't exactly been the picture of consistency, so I'm not feeling another GS win is on the horizon.

Sounds great! Have fun, Herios. :)

Thanks tented. Long overdue, it's been 8 years since my last vacation on the beaches...
And after the winter we got, just what the doctor ordered.

Stan has a W-L record of 21-5 this year. In percentage of matches won, he ranks
5th in the circuit (behind Rafa, Novak, Federer and Kei). That is not bad place to be
in.

More importantly Stan is 6-0 this year against top 10 opponents.

He does not have a horrendous draw (except for facing GGL in 1st round)
If he remains careful and does not lose early, he may be a force to contend with.

Nice. We were there a few years ago. Lovely beaches. Sexy beaches too  ;) When you land pay close attention 'cos when we were there they had a crashed plane just casually on the side near the runway. Nothing like making you feel safe :snigger Also if you go take a domestic flight to Havana (which I'm sure you will) I hope you have the same security guard we did. She was absolutely hilarious. Dressed like a hooker I kid you not. Fishnet stockings, mini skirt, big knee high FMBs (a local abbreviation phrase over here for F**k me boots:D ) and waving the security swipe baton thing they search you with while chewing gum and going "Por favor, next!" to everyone. Truly hilarious. Would love to have taken a photo but we'd probably have been shot or at least arrested :laydownlaughing

The roads there are also some of the worst I've ever seen. Huge holes EVERYWHERE! It's also the only country I've ever been to that has a separate currency just for tourists and when you go to the airport and see prices quoted in local currency versus the tourist one you see just how much Castro's dirty commie government are ripping you off! Convertible pesos for tourists and Cuban pesos for locals. Scumbags.

You are supposed to say lie in the sunshine and not lay in the sunshine.
According to English Grammar, somebody else must lay you and when
you are doing that to yourself, you are supposed to use the word "lie".
Be careful fellow, you may get laid in Cuba.:laydownlaughing
