Sorry I didn't see this before, but it is seriously disturbing. The statement from her doesn't seem to have actually come from her, and the WTA is trying to push back, and ask for a real accounting as to her well-being.
Agree,it is seriously disturbing, even the CEO has issued a statement saying it does not appear it is from Peng,it is probably sent from some Chinese official trying to cover up this incident.

Enough is Enough The WTA should now cut all ties with China and not hold any more tournaments there and also the end of the year WTA Final, the only reason it has not held this year because of COVID outbreaks.Peng Shaui has been missing for 3 weeks and the longer this goes on the longer I feel something dreadful has happen to her.

I think it would take someone like Roger's voice and possibly political influence to the public to get a resolution to her situation.
It’s going to take the International Olympic Committee threatening to stop the Olympics. China’s leadership would consider anything else white noise, I fear. If the IOC were to threaten them in a manner which brings worldwide attention to this, while also costing them financially, then China would act. But as @MargaretMcAleer states above, I also worry something has already happened to her.
