Probably the worst game of Kaepernick's career so far. And Cutler had one of his "good Jay" days. Tough day for the big boys of the NFC West and they don't have many of 'em.

AP is 10-5, KS 9-6 and I'm 8-7 and we all have Indy tomorrow so it will be AP for a 2nd straight week.

I dont think Kaepernick is getting better.. I actually feel that he is regressing.. I think that the 49ers coaching staff especially Greg Norman has the offensive football IQ of Elmer Fudd. I think that the Jim H has the keys to the Ferrari but drives it like he has a Ford escort. I thnk that Crabtree is overrated and can not may "the catch or play when needed". To have a drive of 7-9 minutes and to barely come up with a field goal is unacceptable. This team is not poised, not focused and are not going to win a SuperBowl because this team doesnt have the uttermost confidence in this overrated Coach. Darth Fed.. I would take Mike McCarthy any day over this arrogrant jackass

I'd trade you that in a heartbeat. SF has had GB's number and has been the all around better team since Harbaugh got there in 2011 and all this despite Rodgers as the Packers QB.

The season is young but it was clear to see in the 2nd half that the 49ers defense could have serious problems the first half of the season. I do agree about Kaepernick, he has always been a fairly streaky passer yet he usually avoids the total duds like tonight. And it came against a very poor Bears D.

It wasnt the 49ers defense but the same ole thing as the past 3 years, the 49ers absolutely STINKS in the red zone. This goes back to the SuperBowl when they had 1st and goal at the 5 yd line and couldnt score..

This is a coaching issue..The 49ers have a very good defense regardless if Smith and Bowman are not there.. I would take Patrick Willis to any bar fight and will walk out victorious.. He is a pure stud and as long as he is back there, the opposition has to be concerned but you cannot have the defense on the field as often as they are when the 49ers cant make a half a yard for a first down. Look at this sequence.. Frank gore rushes for 7, Frank gore ruses for 2 and a half.. then they give the ball to the full back and he gets stop inches short.. Do you feel me now.. Its the offense,, they have been stinking for years.. yeah they played a great 2nd half of the SB when the "lights came back on" or in a few playoff games but it cost them last year in Seattle..

BTW.. I thought you would change your SD vs Seattle pick.. you was leaning but would pull the trigger;)

Good call on San Diego. Can't believe Rivers tore them up like that. Seattle is a much different team away but the Chargers are the perennial flakes of the NFL. If they played Jacksonville at home next week it wouldn't surprise me at all if they lost.

The 49ers are an above average offense overall and talent-wise that's about where they should be IMO. Basically they are good everywhere and Kaepernick is great on his day and Vernon Davis can be a beast.

That defense is going to suffer though. The secondary isn't that good and with no Bowman and Smith that will compound the problem. You got to wonder how long Mr. McDonald will be on the field too.

AP went 10-6
KS went 9-7
I went 8-8

Season:
AP is 21-11
KS is 19-13
I am 18-14

Great game last night but Indy really got jobbed by the refs, missing a blatant hold/pass interference on a 3rd down that got intercepted by the Eagles and then calling a big phantom horsecollar penalty on the following drive by the Eagles.

Onto week 3:

Bucs @ Falcons on Thursday - Falcons
Chargers @ Bills - Buffalo seems to be a surprise team, giving them the edge here
Cowboys @ Rams - Close call but will go with Dallas
Redskins @ Eagles - Eagles
Texans @ Giants - Going with Texans, Giants burned me last week
Vikings @ Saints - AP's status doesn't matter for this it should be all Saints
Titans @ Bengals - Cincy
Ravens @ Browns - Tough one to call, will go with Browns
GB @ Detroit - Another tough one. GB's defense and offensive line looked dreadful for most of first half vs. Jets. I think Detroit will put up a lot of points but GB should too. I will go with Green Bay

Colts @ Jaguars - Indy
Raiders @ Pats - Pats
49ers @ Cards - I think San Fran in a close one. They will be PO'ed after last week and win one at the end.

Broncos @ Seahawks - Can't ever pick against Seattle at home. I think they take this rematch
Chiefs @ Dolphins - Dolphins, no Charles in this one I'd imagine
Steelers @ Panthers - Carolina
Bears @ Jets - Bears

Hey guys, a bit late to the party, haven't been around on these boards since last Christmas due to lots of stuff going on at work and private life that kept me away from tennis and any sports. Would like to join this year's pickup challenge if you don't mind. Since I missed the first two weeks I'd propose let me start at 12-20 (6-10 for each week) in order to keep me in contention. I think that's the realistic score or range I would have achieved anyway had I made the picks because I missed the entire offseason and was never going to start off well. No clue who's good who's bad, are the Jaguars still $hit? :snigger

Welcome back Didi! Yes the Jaguars are still trash. We will start you at 16-16, that's about as bad as it gets probably.

Thankfully I wasn't up against Matt Ryan or Julio Jones in any of my fantasy leagues. Didn't catch the game last night but that must have been crazy.

Thanks for the warm welcome kate, Darth and AP, really appreciate that. Always nice coming back to this community. Yep, everything is fine, thanks, I am really looking forward to this season despite missing large parts of the offseason, free agency, draft, training camps etc. but I have been trying to catch up on them for a couple of days. Made some gutsy picks in order to catch up but doesn't really look good so far. Tampa over Atlanta and Oakland over Pats is just plain ridiculous. Everything above 4-12 for this week and I am a happy man. :snigger
