Bulls had to do it. I'm really surprised anyone would want Rose especially for that price. Bulls get off easy by being able to dump that huge contract. They're also trying to trade Butler because no one can get along w/ him. Personally, I think they're stuck w/ Butler because his contract is pretty big too.

I think Butler would garner plenty of interest. If they trade him (and get far less in return) they are in full rebuild mode, no?
Definitely in rebuild mode and I think they knew about it last season. No doubt Butler would hold interest. He was the best Bulls player the last 2 seasons and a great 2-way player. But his head has blown up and he could cause dissension in a locker room.

It's confirmed. A 2 year deal worth 53 mil to join the Dubs.

Its Oakland dude, not Anaheim.. these folks out here are sensitive about the DUBs just like they are about the Raiders:snicker

If the same teams played ten 7 game series (without Durant) the Warriors would win 8 or 9). It took an insane performance for the ages from an aging Lebron and he got help from Kyrie. And on the other side curry was very sub-par.

The rest of the NBA's only hope next year is that there are serious chemistry issues.

Not sure if I mentioned it here earlier but I figured he'd be an idiot to resign in OKC. There was no guarantee Westbrook would stay, in fact I think he would leave no matter what after next year. I was surprised he chose golden state over a team like Boston or even Miami mostly because GS will never be "his" team. At best it will be Durant and Curry's team.

We had talked about him not resigning w/ OKC. We even mentioned some places he could go, but I'm a little shocked he went to GS as he'll have to see his old team a few times a year.

It's like you said, it will never be his team. But when you think about it, OKC wasn't really his team either. He had to share that w/ Russ because of how many shots he put up anyway. I guess he figures, might as well go somewhere I'm guaranteed a ring.

Exactly and that's part of the reason I figure he'd leave OKC. Durant wants to be a historically great player and its easier to accomplish that by winning championships as the top dog on the team. Even if GSW wins a few rings it is cheapened a bit if we are comparing him to other greats. I think you see the same with Kobe, he was Robin for at least the first 2 rings and those count less when comparing him with MJ, Lebron, and others.

Needless to say it's been pretty crazy already with the Durant signing. I figured he'd leave OKC (definitely the right move) but never bought the idea he'd go to Golden State. I thought Boston or Miami might land him. They may have chemistry issues at first but that's going to be a scary team. The other thing to look out for is Wade possibly going to Cleveland.

Bulls sign Rondo and an aging D. Wade trying to form a new Big 3 w/ Butler. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this move. :puzzled

They are putting off the rebuild for a couple years. Bulls should make the playoffs but they are not a serious contender at all.

Tim Duncan retires after 19 seasons, five NBA titles

Some are saying that Duncan is the most influential player of his time... Where do you rank him among the greats?
