Fantastic match and what to say about Rune, gutsy play the whole match, the whole tournament. In some ways he is better than Alcaraz, for sure his serve is. They are kind of similar players, just behave different. I look forward to their rivarly.

This is very exciting - we now have two young studs. I honestly think this kid could be on par with Alcaraz. Should be an interesting rivalry to see unfold.

When have I ever? Feel free to go back in the annals of TF history and find a post that demonstrates it. :face-with-tears-of-joy:
I also have reluctantly cheered for him .I cheer for him when he plays Rublev or Zverev.

Factor in FAA and Sinner, and the future is looking very bright. The Tsitsipas generation, if it ever existed, is already looking like it's going to miss the boat. They'll join the Missing Link generation of Dmitrv, Cilic, Nishi and others as being a generation of scarce success.

The end of noletardism. :clap::pompoms::dance3:

Clearly Djokovic is being outplayed by the youngsters having lost his last matches to Alcaraz, FAA and Rune. :yesyes:

Things will only get worse for him from now on since he is getting older and they’re getting stronger. :yesyes:

Well, they (Next Gen) are significantly better than Lost Gen, but I agree they're being lapped. I see Next Gen (Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Berretini, etc) as being roughly similar to Kuerten's group (Moya, Kafelnikov, etc), while Lost Gen is far worse.

I also think Next Gen will win more Slams, just sprinkled into the dominance of the Millenial Gen.

I get confused by which "gen" we're talking about, especially when I add to the confusion by calling them by my own names, like The Missing Link Gen.. :lulz1:

Such hypocrisy! So you forgot all the losses by Nadal at the hands of these same kids; worse yet Coric a few months ago! You serious? :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Bro, Nadal was rusty and coming back from injury after Wimbledon. You FORGOT? :facepalm: Clearly Nadal's only problem this year is his many injuries while Djokovic is simply getting outplayed at his own baseline game. :smooch:

The 'stand out' to me in the match was Rune's ability to sustain pressure in key moments in the match!
( Rune will now be the first alternative at the ATP Finals in Turin) also now Top 10 in the rankings!

No, but Nadalfan2013 may well be right. We did compare Rafa, Novak and Roger with the young players in terms of H2H, and Rafa fared the better of all 3, with Novak rather far worse than the other two. I'd be surprised if it's changed much, even leaving out Roger.
