You would think spending $260 million upgrading Cincy they might have considered putting a roof on their main court? Cincy has always had rain in their tournament, and it is a Masters 1000, and still no time when play will resume, it has never been one of my fav tournaments and that also includes Paris Masters where most of the players limp into the tournament

Holger gave a TCC Desk interview after his win over Tiafoe who retired! Didn't see match, but at least got to see him! :pompoms::cheerleader::rose::wedding:
I saw a bit of that. He talked about the conversations he's having with Agassi. He thinks he's playing some of his best tennis in a while.

IMO, it's a joke having Fritz so high in the rankings & regarded w/ any real respect! He's no better than past kids like A-Rod, Krickstein & Arias; big serves & FH's! They were more a novelty way back when & surprised players! It didn't last! The overall level of tour players are better today so it's hard to separate from the rest & stay there w/ any consistency & longevity! There are no secret stars around performing on a meteoric rise to surpass Sincaraz, no matter how much Fonseca's been touted! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: Any player can be good one day & a bum the next! Medvedev & Tsitsipas are droppin' like stones over a cliff! Sascha's barely holding on at the top so far representing the Lost Gen II past the era of the Big 3! :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Ranking points are what they are. Fritz has deserved his ranking, and has kept it for quite a while.

Holding ranking pts. to a major final helps a lot! It put Ruud up there for a while! After those Pts. come off in a couple weeks, Fritz may very well drop out of the top 10 just like other players who were on a heater at one time, but come back to Earth! :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface:

You should look at the live rankings. He's more than a 1000 points ahead of Draper. Not sure what he's defending, though.

he's defending 1200 USO finalist points. He's not likely to drop out of the top 10. He just put a plethora of points in the last 2 months. Unless he bombs out R1, he'll still be floating between 5-7

BTW Fritz dosent have a good record against left handers, maybe that was the problem in his match against Atmane who by the way according to L'equipe has no clothing sponsor, no shoe sponsor and no agent?
I think that wont be the case for too long

First of all, the equipment isn't that expensive. Drama in tennis is good. Useless theatrics is not, which might be what he's talking about, at least in terms of himself. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

OMG, turned over just in time to catch Rune donating the 1st set to Atmane! Back in the day, a left-hander was my Kryptonite! If they could get the ball over the net, I could be had easily! I couldn't get accustomed to that reverse spin early on! Coincidently I was just beginning to play the game in the 70's during the Tennis Boom, but a wood racket in the hands of a left-hander could make me look like a stone cold beginner! By the mid-80's steel & fiberglass composites compensated & I got back in the game against those "caster of spells!" :face-with-tears-of-joy: I swear, I could literally "whiff," it was so deceptive IMO w/ that reverse spin! :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::face-with-tears-of-joy:
