Good to see CSN competing after she had to retire in Stuggart with a wrist injury

Plenty of good clay court players competing in this tournament. Also a chance for me to see Bouchard on clay this year.

Oh, forgot to mention, this is a mixed event, both ladies and gents are in action. We have threads in both main forums.

Anyone else a fan of Karin Knapp? After all the health problems she has overcome over the past few years, I really thought she finally had it together, and was ready to surpass her career high ranking from back in 2008 following Wimbledon last summer.

But losing that barnburner against Sharapova at the Aussie really seems to have set her back. She had a decent FedCup showing in February, winning two matches for the Italians against US ladies, but she has not won a WTA main draw match since Doha, and she's probably going to fall back out of the Top 50 in the next week or so if she loses to Yaro (she's already down a break).

Lovely Lucie never seems to make things easy for herself.

Actually Magdalena was playing well in the first set..her serve was good etc...then she was just plain dreadful in the 2nd and 3rd sets

Lucie did say it was a bit of a transition playing indoor's on clay and playing out doors. She got her game rolling in the 2nd and 3rd sets.Hence the bagels.

As I have a couple of days off from my advertising duties at our paper, I may just be able to catch Bouchard vs Kleybanova in action.

#3 seed Samantha Stosur goes out in straight sets falling to a Swiss qualifier(what's up with the Swiss lately?), Slamin' Sam enjoyed a bagel in the second set!
I am not sure but this may kick Samantha out of top 20!
The second quarter is now wide open for Kaia Kanepi.

Lucie, fan, Fashionista? I love that girl!

Sadly, it was Polona in 3. She has match point on Li at the AO, serves for it against Maria at Stuttgart, and loses to Polona Hercog. Being a Lucie fan is sorta like forgetting to take your meds. Every week is a new adventure.
