Hopefully FAA will not have a letdown like Pospisil did after losing the first set in a tiebreak. Let’s go FAA, keep fighting! :ptennis:

The only really bad thing about FAA today is his forehand. He is spraying A LOT of forehand errors, part of it is because of Thiem's defense and part of it is his overcooking them. This is one thing he needs to work on in the future: try to balance of being aggressive and defensive at the same time.

No one says he should get away with it. Penalty yes, but THIS??????? Really?
If someone has the will to look a bit into this family guy, that he is, no one could call him violent.
Jesus, this is professional sports, not children-gaming.

I congratulate you and all other real Nadalfans, not the troll bastards out there, he will now, through this farce, catch the slam record and maybe few other records.
You must be very lucky that the job was done that easily.
I was just replying to that clown djokovic fan, you are a real smart poster I do agree with that tennis can go way too far with these things players not meaning to hit the linesman.

But why are you so deeply offended by what Djokovic did? Players hit the ball out of frustration all the time. Djokovic has been on tour a very long time and never done anything like this. I think there should be a penalty for this but an immediate disqualification for a first-time offender strikes me as quite harsh.
Nadal thiem have never hit the ball in frustration and into the crowd or at All even not even into the wall your a fool not everyone does this only federer does this his way worse than djokovic who has more class stop telling lies psycho man.

The only thing about Thiem that really bothers me about his game is his serve. He has worked hard to improve it, but there is no consistency with it like the big three. He is just as likely to start a game at 30-0 as he is 0-30.

It is part of the main reason on why he lost to Djokovic in the AO 2020 final. He could not a big 1st serve when he needed against Djokovic in the 5th set.

I mean it really makes a difference in perception not only to you but your opponent if you can make it to 30-0 starting on your serve versus having a great service game and then a really crappy one where you are struggling. It causes that doubt of can I break him. Thiem really needs to work on figuring out what he needs to do to take his serve to the next level.

thiem winning the us open for sure

But if Carreno Busta plays like he did against Djokovic then he might be the one to win the USO. He outplayed Djokovic and destroyed him mentally. But Thiem, Medvedev and Zverev have the potential.

Now Matteo vs Andrej , I like them both.
I’m naturally rooting for my Italian neighbours.
Forza Matteo.
One of my favorite players beside country fellows and Novak is great Fabio!

It was disappointing for Felix in both the 2nd and 3rd sets after having playing a tight 1st set. But like I said before the match, this will be a good lesson for FAA as he will see on what he can improve on moving forward. Also, that's why it is important to manage our expectations to the young players because you just never know on they will pan out.

As for Thiem, good solid win for him. He has not spent a lot of energy on the court so far and he is looking really solid. The winner between him and Medvedev is definitely the favorite to win the US Open.

Thiem like the 3rd best player in the world right behind Nadal djokovic, this guy is beast, of course carreno busta is playing great level tennis we seen that he did to djokovic in the 4th round.

We didn’t really get to see much of what Carreno Busta would have done to Djokovic. They were fairly even up to that point in the match. Carreno Busta doing something to Djokovic would have been like 5-1 serving for the set against Djokovic.

They're showing Alex's presser. I really can't look at that mustache. Surely he'll have to keep it for the rest of his USO, but shall we place bets on how long it takes for him to lose it after that? The commentators are against it, the internet is against it...and the kid has parents, for heaven's sake!

Surely, he should know better especially given Austrian history.
