About Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain and its most populous city, located on a high plane, at 667m (2,188 ft). The population of the city is almost 3.2 million with a metropolitan area population of approximately 6.5 million. It is the third-largest city in the EU, after London and Berlin, and its metropolitan area is the third-largest in the European Union after London and Paris. It's a sports town, home to not only the storied Real Madrid, but Atlético Madrid, a great football rivalry, and one of the most beautiful bull rings in Spain. It's wonderful picture gallery, The Prado, is one of the greatest museums in the world. But Madrid is best taken in by neighborhoods, small restaurants or tapas places. It wears its sense of World Capital lightly, and can still feel like a rather small city, if you know where to go.

Caroline Wozniacki had to withdraw today because of a lower back injury which comes from her illness which appeared again a few days before Madrid after a good training pass in Monaco. She was stiff and far fromher normal form and behind 0-3 and had a MTO - played two more balls and retired.

After the match was a funny/catastrofal interview which cleary showed that the interviewer was not prepared at all

Answer blows in the wind. If she gets injured before too many tournaments I think she'll retire. Next three she's playing is Rome, RG and Eastbourne.

Is Caroline on medication for this auto immune disease?

I wish Vika could get back to Vika!

She just won the second set against Sloane, 6-2, so they’re going three.

Vika loses serve while trying to stay in the match, at 2-5. I’ve seen her do this a few times this year.

She may never get back to that level. Her and Serena are finding out how much your body changes after having a kid and how much the tour passes you by when you're not there to compete day in-day out.
