Good hold on serve from Paula coming back from love 40 down and consolidates her break leads 2-0

So far this match from both players has been 'sub par' another break of serve and Ons is making too many UFE and her fhand is letting her down

Paula with the break finally consolidates and leads 5-3

Paula breaks, impressed with the way she has kept Ons off her game and has been aggressive at the right time

Badosa leads 4-2 2nd set.....Badosa holds 5-2

Ons looks tired to me,I am not taking anything away from Paula, maybe the pressure of her making the Top 10 has taken a mental toll on her.

Wow on her 5th MP Paula Badosa defeats Ons Jabeur 63 63 for a place in the final

Well done Paula you never let Ons play her game and a well deserved win! (Moxie will be pleased)......Nice hug at the net between Paula and Ons.
Paula has a good all court game, with a good first serve and fhand, also she moves well on the court.

To be clear, I would have been happy with either. I've been a Jabeur fan for some time, and yes, I probably rooted for Badosa initially because she's Spanish. (A default position if I have no skin in the game,) but I do like her grit.

I am also a fan of Ons,though I still feel she has to work on her fitness.

Maybe so, though her tricky game often gets her through. I didn't see the rest of the match after the first set, but she did seem uncharacteristically flat in the first. And that could be fitness, in a big match at the business end of a 1000.

Goodness me it is going to be a long day at the office for both these players
Azarenka fighting off 4 BPs finally holds and leads 2-1...understand both players have not met before,Vika seems to directing her shots to Paula's bhand.Vika's first serve will be important in this game.

Badosa with a fhand down the line return winner and she breaks Azarenka 4-3
