With Medvedev not playing Wimbledon and Zverev out also, Nadal will be the 2nd seed?

Just saw that, it was from Marca and Rafa will not play Wimbledon for the 2nd time in a row, also John Weitherm confirmed it

I’m surprised he would confirm it before the RG final. I hope he changes his mind.

I am not, he said earlier this year, he would not play a full schedule and also he might need time off after RG for some more treatment for his foot,.

Ok I am still surprised because he barely played in the clay season and there’s also 3 weeks before Wimbledon. But I guess maybe he’s struggling a lot with the foot and can’t imagining playing. Disappointing but the most important right now is to win the RG final.

I don’t think he is changing his mind. I think he looked ahead at where to trim fat in his schedule.

Rafa said,
" Very tough conditions, roof closed, humid, very difficult to create spin"
Also said Zverev's two handed backhand is probably the best in the world right now".

It seems that it might not be true after all about Nadal skipping Wimbledon…

Lets wait and see after the final on Sunday, other tennis journalists have said he wont play Wimbledon either, maybe someone from his team has said something to the press, leaks can get out, not from the player.

Conditions like we had today do favor big, flat hitter's of the ball
Rafa also said he would trade losing the final for a new healthy foot, and not having to be in pain everyday.

The last sentence indicates that he is ready to retire once his foot flares up really bad again

Well I think that is why he wont play the grass, probably to have another treatment on the foot, he did say earlier in the year, he would have to have another treatment on his foot,
I thought his movement in the match against Zverev, Rafa was moving fine btw

I think Mauresmo didnt want to win because he struggles indoors..lol
Also her comments about women playing at night matches, did not go down well with female players....Iga wasnt impressed at all with her, saying womens matches can be boring BTW Coco and Jess have made the finals in doubles

My thoughts are when he wins RG, he will play Wimbledon because he knows if Novak falls he may have a opportunity to win a calendar slam plus he hasn't played that much since February

Mauresmo is very transparent, she struggled with Serena and was very bitter towards her.
