I think Chrissie is just virtue signalling..
Chrissie has always maintained that Halep is innocent, dosent believe she would take any enhancing drugs etc, well they have been found not once but twice, the 2nd time on her athletic passport.Noone forced Halep to take those supplements in the first place.

Exactly. Even Chrissie’s tweets accept that Halep handed her life over to her coach. Does she expect that this exonerated her for doing that?

And will Patrick face any charges for doping his players? The players are responsible at the end of the day..

Patrick and his team brought the so called 'contaminated collagen supplements unknowingly' that was his statement. I do not know in saying that, if he would,.or could face charges.Halep is using that in her new defense. At the end of the day the onus is on the player.

Seems like the onus is on the kid in the health food store who sold them crack instead of digestive enzymes… :lulz1:

Simona should but me on retainer. I was top of my chemistry class in highschool for 3 consecutive years and made straight A's in college chemistry which was a lot tougher.
This could be helpful, your background in chemistry. I haven't paid so much attention to this case, but decided to google a bit today. Simona says that she took a tainted collagen supplement, is that a correct? Collagen is for joints. But some things I've read says that they don't really work that well, compared to good nutrition. Also, something I read about roxadustat is that it reduces collagen. But the science on that is complicated. It sounds weird to me.

Also, there is this study, which sort of sounds like it's about Halep, but the disclosure says that two of the named scientists in the study were paid experts by "the athlete."

Everything in the WADA rules says that the athlete is ultimately responsible. They can read packages, too.

That journalist who has read all 127 pages of the investigation on Halep says that the people who were in charge of the case concluded that banned substance could not come from supplement contamination, like there was much more of that roxadustat in her blood.

But Halep is still puting the blame on contaminated supplements and now also the guy who brought it.

The summary of the case:

Anyone who saw her win in Toronto would be highly suspicious because she was on fire all tournament long. She played unbelievable tennis, especially after all the signs of decline were beginning to show.

Quite frankly I was also suspicious when Sharapova, started winning at RG, remember she said she felt like she was a 'cow on ice', I wasnt surprised when she got caught

The supplements excuse always seems lame to me. Top athletes eat, or should eat, very well. They have experienced and expensive coaches. Certainly Simona does, or did. They have, we imagine, fairly strict training regimes. Then someone just runs to the drugstore for a supplement? Oh, and...oops, it had a banned substance in it? They know they can't even take cold medication without being cautious.

Dietary supplements are among the least regulated things out there on the open market, especially internationally. One would think that athletes would stay away from them, especially after what happened to Cilic, though the excuse did work. To me, it doesn't hold water. I think she's done for.

When the rubber meets the road, there were issues w/ her bio passport. That suggests long term blood doping which likely precedes Patrick. You have to remember, he just started working w/ her after Serena gave him walking papers in the Spring of 2022.

I read Chris comments the other day, that is her opinion which she is entitled to
I love Chris, and I'm sorry she's likely emotional due to her recent bout w/ cancer, but she should stay out of this. She doesn't live w/ the woman and cannot vouch for what she would or wouldn't do. No one is responsible for doping until they get caught, and even then there's "always a dog ate my homework excuse" that's supposed to make all this magically go away. To me doping is a sign of desperation. Nice people dope too.
