It is obvious how much it counts for Nadal, he is sharp from the beginning.
I think moxie wrote it before, Nadal is a confidence player, and he is rounding into his threatening form on clay.

Dios mio, vintage Rafa in his first Service Game.
Did you see that first point he lost on this service game? Thought he'd hit a first-serve fault, turned back to the service line and the ball was going past him. It was kind of funny, but mental errors have been a recent feature, which is odd.

Except for failing to serve out the first set, and DF-ing on break point?

Truth, but the problem is it has nothing to do with Busta, it’s all Nadal.
Now Pablo is getting fresh air, due to passive play by Rafa.
Seems a bit like: hey let’s stay bit longer on court, I need practice :face-with-tears-of-joy:

That first set was not as straightforward as the score would make it look. PCB only lost one point on his first serve and got broken twice. Rafa served for the set at 5-1, but got broken.

I like the aggressive Nadal from the beginning more than the bring-back-everything- Nadal of late 1st and early 2nd set.

The bagel first set was deceptive...neither was convincing, just that Kei was worse. Rafa started strong, but the wobbles came in. In the 2nd, Kei broke and played better, Rafa still wobbly. In the 3rd, Rafa broke, IIRC, Kei started flagging, and only then did the intensity begin to kick in for Rafa. It was a pretty sloppy match on both sides.
Thank you

Slow start from Karatsev, break back and 5:5 in the first.
Karatsev bossing the rallies, but too much errors so far.
Djokovic far from where he wants to be on clay. Also it seems that his own big expectations are paralysing him.

Yet Karatsev gets better and takes the first set off of Novak, even though Novak broke back when Karatsev was serving for it. @Front242, your man is doing some of what you were looking for.

Djokovic snatched the 2nd set with vintage play , huge shots to break Karatsev.

Djokovic Karatsev match is a good watch. Low quality first set, but high level of tennis in 2nd.

Just got home from work as I have recorded both matches I will watch later,
Sinner who has played some of the top players so far,it is a great learning curve for him,I did not expect him to beat the Young Greek.
I thought Rafa would beat Pablo comfortably.
