What is AO plan with regards to fans? How many will they allow on stadiums if any? The way things are going It seems like in 2021 we won't see packed stadiums for a whole year. I do hope the quantity of fans will gradually increase towards the end of the year and that we can see at least half full stadiums or something like that in the 2nd half of the season.
Presently tournament organisers are hopeful of a 50% capacity over the 2 week period.Fans will not be allowed to roam around the grounds freely. There will be 3 zones at Melbourne Park, with tickets allowing access to one zone only, and you wont be allowed to go from one zone to another.
Zone 1 Rod Laver Arena
Zone 2 Margaret Court Arena
Zone 3 John Cain Arena (formerly Melbourne Arena).

Good info and actually not bad at all. Can't wait to watch some tennis again.

Projected top seed Milos Raonic has withdrawn from this week's Delray Beach Open, along with Vasek Pospisil. It's unclear what role the increasing COVID rates played in both Raonic and Pospisil's decision to forgo the tournament, but as of Sunday, the state of Florida reported another 10,603 positive cases, marking the fifth straight reporting day of over 10,000 cases.
It's wide open down here MM. Mask requirements are regulated county to county. For instance Sarasota county doesn't have a mask requirement but Hillsborough county does. As well, all restaurants, bars and other venues are allowed to operate at 100% capacity if they desire. There's no quarantine rule if you travel from another state. No restrictions at all. Because of that, many people are still traveling here for vacation and now we have the Super Bowl in about a month.

Current vaccines out there are laughable. Not enough testing done, they don't know if they'll stop transmission or simply reduce symptoms. They think it's "likely" (great scientific backup and hope for mankind's trust in them) they'll work on the mutations and strains that are causing big issues eg in the UK and South Africa. A nurse died 2 days after getting the Pfizer "vaccine". I'm not anti vaccine but I'm definitely anti not properly tested covid bs vaccines where the public are being used as guinea pigs and won't ever take any of this poorly tested p1S$. Countries and employers making this mandatory should be ashamed of themselves. It's a violation of basic human rights to get injected with this crap that they have no damn idea of the long term effects, or even if it even works full stop. The nurse who died 2 days later says "hi Pfizer and f**k you."

https://www.republicworld.com/world...zer-biontechs-coronavirus-vaccine-report.html

Pharmaceutical companies being given indemnification for their pathetic rushed vaccines basically spells this: We know they don't work properly but we're gonna get rich asf and if you get sick or die you can't sue us. What a world we live in.

I very much admire the ex vice president of Pfizer for saying this.

“There is absolutely no need for vaccines to extinguish the pandemic. I’ve never heard such nonsense talked about vaccines. You do not vaccinate people who aren’t at risk from a disease. You also don’t set about planning to vaccinate millions of fit and healthy people with a vaccine that hasn’t been extensively tested on human subjects.”

^ Couldn't have said it better. Why the hell would any sane and healthy person take this crap, many of which change your DNA? The world has gone f***ing nuts over a virus with a 98% recovery rate.

Six of the world's top tennis players will quarantine in Adelaide rather than Melbourne and contest an exhibition tournament there in an agreement between Tennis Australia and the South Australian government. With hotel rooms for international players in Melbourne nearing capacity over 1000 arriving on charter flights next week,Tennis Australia approached the South Australian government about hosting 50 plus players.Tennis Australia boss Craig Tiley said the South Australian government wanted some reward for their risk so they offered an exhibition tournament in Adelaide on January 29 and 30 featuring the Top 3 ranked men's and women's players.
That means Djpkovic,Nadal and Theim could feature in the men's draw at Memorial Park, and Ash Barty, Simona Halep and Naomi Osaka in the women's.Tiley said the conditions for those players in Adelaide would be the same for the international players in Victoria. The Adelaide -based players will then return to Melbourne Park with 2 WTA Tournaments,2 ATP Tournaments,as well as the ATP Cup which starts on February 1. Rod Laver will not be attending the AO this year he has decided to stay home in America.
Just an update for the 'Day at the Drive' exhibition Serena Williams and another 2 players (tba).2 sessions with reduced capacity Jan 29th.

Another death due to Pfizer's "vaccine". Miami doctor 56 years old died 3 weeks after they injected him with this not properly tested poisonous p1S$. Everything is pointing towards the wise words of the ex VP of Pfizer.

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article248337525.html

"was vaccinated at Mount Sinai on Dec. 18 and within three days he noticed bruising on his feet and hands, which prompted his hospitalization. Doctors at the hospital diagnosed him with Immune thrombocytopenia, or ITP, a blood disorder caused by an immune reaction, Neckelmann said. Michael died of a stroke after attempts to raise his platelet count were unsuccessful.

“He was a very healthy 56 year old, loved by everyone in the community, delivered hundreds of healthy babies and worked tireless through the pandemic,”

With all tournaments under pressure to reduce the number of people on site because of the Coronavirus pandemic,Masters 1000s will use Hawk-Eye live in 2021,removing the need for linesmen and woman.
The Masters 1000 events on hard courts Miami,Canada,Cincinnati,Paris and Shanghai (plus Indian Wells if it is rescheduled) - will use Hawk-Eye Live, automated line-calling,which will reduce the number of people on site at each event and reduce the risk of transmission.

That feels like one that won't get put back in the bottle after the pandemic...that there won't be human beings calling lines before too long.

John Isner says he'll skip the AO because of the COVID-19 pandemic.Isner 35,has two young children and said he wanted his family to travel together "make it as much fun as possible on the road, because I won't be playing tennis forever. But that's not possible because of the vitus,he said, and going to Australia this year would have meant too much time away from his family".

I will be interested to see if they implement it for grass and clay tournaments as well.

Isn't it already implemented at Wimbledon? On grass since there is no Masters level tourneys I'm wondering if it comes down to expense, ie since they are mostly 250's, one(?) 500. As to clay, I think it's clear by now that the mark left is not all that reliable. .
