We didn’t really get to see much of what Carreno Busta would have done to Djokovic. They were fairly even up to that point in the match. Carreno Busta doing something to Djokovic would have been like 5-1 serving for the set against Djokovic.
This is actually why I don't know how come Novak had already been on edge in that match, even before the Problem. PCB hadn't even won the first set yet, he was only about to serve for it. PCB had never beaten him. He's guilty of getting edgy way before time, IMO. In the match at RG where he threw his racquet and almost hit the lines man, he beat Berdych in straights, and on top of it, Berdych has/had a dismal record against him. I also remember in the SF at RG v. Gulbis in '14 (I think,) after Novak cruised through the first 2 sets, Gulbis got up an early break and Djokovic's head kind of blew off. I remember Carillo saying, "Someone should remind Novak he's up two sets to love." I know people say that Djokovic is an emotional player, and his fans love him for it, but sometimes that seems like a euphemism. He gets angry way before it seems time, often enough, and including in matches he ends up winning in straights or pretty comfortably.

They're showing Alex's presser. I really can't look at that mustache. Surely he'll have to keep it for the rest of his USO, but shall we place bets on how long it takes for him to lose it after that? The commentators are against it, the internet is against it...and the kid has parents, for heaven's sake!
Shut up!!

To his mama snd papa Alex hung the moon :D

Berrettini's buddy the restaurant owner is back on the job outside of the grounds being the cheering section of one. Brad Gilbert just misspoke...he said that the restaurant "burned to the ground" in Feb. That's not true. The place is still there and intact from the exterior.

That’s because Djokovic much like Serena doesn’t assess the entire situation versus the moment. They explode versus saying I have a much greater shot at getting this back on track versus their maintaining this level.

You know what's interesting about it Moxie is that if he does not have the most slam titles by the end of their careers, this will be the main reason (other than of course Nadal steadily winning more slams). He is SO badly wants to achieve that goal that sometimes he forgets that he can be human after all. He does not need to feel pressure when sometimes there is no pressure to begin with.

It is why both Federer and Nadal have come to accept the fact that if they don't win the most slam titles, then they are okay with that as long they have given their best chances and opportunities.

Section I, Line B of Ricardo's Version of All Things Tennis:

"In the case where a forum poster disagrees with Ricardo's view, they shall be insulted and attacked."

Section I, Line F:

"Any and all differences of opinion from Ricardo's screed shall be deemed idiotic and interpreted as stupidity."
Sure you want to go this route? I have whipped your coward butt before, want me to do it again?

Terrible game from Berrettini to get broken. He's lost the rhythm on his serve, and it's messing with his head.

Perfectionist mentality combined with intense ambition and a great feel for the flow of a match. All of those things contribute to making Djokovic the excellent tennis virtuoso that he is. It’s not something that I would expect, for example, some effeminate dweeb like Nadalfan2013 to understand.

Medvedev looks sharp in his movement tonight. He is also reminding everyone of just how unathletic Tiafoe is.

How can anyone fault the results of Serena and Novak’s emotional approach to the game. It may have hurt them in some matches but I guarantee you it’s helped them immeasurably in many more matches.

I don't think anyone sees it as a fault. Personally, I like the emotion shown by both players, but would like to see a little more control. Likely, that control would probably alter their drive and determination. :thinking-face:

Tiafoe will be lucky to win more than 2 games in either sets 2 or 3. He is about to get obliterated. Medvedev is in a flow and his movement is far superior to Tiafoe’s.
