A great controlled display of tennis from the No 1 seed Ash Barty in the 1st set 6-0 over M.Bouzkova (16)
Bouzkova found her range of shot in the 2nd set,and broke Ash early,this is their first meeting,Ash made more UFE,dropped her focus to me after having a easy first set.Bouzkova 64.We are going to a decider.
3 of the 4 service games have been broken in the 3rd set,goodness me a lot of missed chances to hold especially from Ash.
It was not Ash's best set of tennis in the final set,though she lifted especially in the last couple of games to win 63 and she has now made the q/finals.....the more matches for Ash who has not played for 1 year the better.

Rogers really lifted her game in the 2nd set,her bhand has been 'on song' she wins with an Ace....62
We are now going into a 10 pt match t/break for the decider.
Ash has really put pressure on the Rogers serve in the t/break,she has lifted and came out firing in the t/break she has 6 MPs 9-3

Barty d Rogers 75 26 10-4.....,Ash had a dip in the 2nd set,but found her game in the t/break when needed.

I do not mean this as bad as it might sound, and it's not "fat-shaming," but I was surprised to see Venus so much heavier. I don't know if it's being 40, or the pandemic and lack of fitness, or her Sjongrens, but she's always been so lanky.
