The Tournament:

The Nature Valley International boasts a fantastic line-up of world-class tennis as a combined men's and women's event. It is a WTA Premier level and ATP 250 level tournament based at the prestigious Devonshire Park.

About Eastbourne:

Eastbourne is a large town, seaside resort, and borough in the non-metropolitan county of East Sussex on the south coast of England, 19 miles (31 km) east of Brighton. Eastbourne is immediately to the east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain.

With a seafront consisting largely of Victorian hotels, a pier, and a Napoleonic era fort and military museum, Eastbourne was developed by the Duke of Devonshire from 1859 from four separate hamlets. It has a growing population, a broad economic base, and is home to companies in a wide range of industries.

I just finished watching the final between Kerber v Pliskova (which I recorded)

Pliskova d Kerber 61 64 winning her second Eastbourne title (first title in 2017)

Pliskova 33 winners 16ufe

Kerber 22 winners 19ufe

Pliskova's serve was outstanding in this match,2nd set was tighter, though Angie could not make inroads to get back into the match.

As I posted on the Wimbledon page,Pliskova is my 'dark horse' to win Wimbledon, she has a good draw being in the bottom half of the draw.Kerber played well this week at Eastbourne, she has a tough draw, big points to defend as well, being the defending Wimbledon champion.

Sorry don't see Pliskobot winning a slam. She's like a lot of NBA teams. Good in the regular season, but can't bring it in the post season.

Maybe she can finally have a breakthrough....she does have Martinez as her coach, who has won Wimbledon, also guided Mugu to win Wimbledon.I like the fact she is in the easier part of the draw, top half of the draw is loaded....she is not my favorite to win....she might be an outsider.
