Ash Barty could overtake Osaka by reaching the final, although Barty would need to win the title should Osaka win her opening match. If Osaka makes the final, she will secure the No1 ranking and be the provisional top seed for Wimbledon.

Serena may not have taken a WC, but we nonetheless have a battle of sisters here.

In an upset, the bad Pliskova (Kristina) won against good Pliskova (Karolina). Didn't watch the match. Not sure whether they have played against each other before.

Wonder why we didn't hear all the nonsense about the Pliskova sisters match winner being determined beforehand like we hear when the Williams sister play

They played 11 times, but 8 are on challengers and ITF, it is 6:5 in favor of good Pliskova. They met 3 times on WTA, bad Pliskova won 2 times and 1 time she was injured or something so that was a W/O this year in Doha.

This match was decided in one point, 9:7 in last set TB.

Venus is impressive during interviews. She may well be the best spoken on tour. Maybe she should replace BJ King when she retires. Rooting for her to play great on grass. She’s an inspiration.

When she chooses to give one. Venus is notorious for skipping the presser and paying the fine whenever she is not in the mood to talk to them.

It's so funny to me how everyone downplays any loss by a #1 player not named Serena.

Venus and Barty are playing. V serving at 4-2.

I like Barty, but I really want Venus to do well, especially on grass.
