I’m going with Ruud in 5. Matteo has been in a weird middle ground since grass season. He and Ruud have the same backhand limitations and rely on their forehands heavily. This will all come down to who has the better serving day. Ruud is definitely the better returner of the two.

Ruud in a very good performance at present, making few UFE just 2 UFE,, on the other hand Matteo is flat, serve is missing, pressing too much on his fhand,too many UFE.,foot work is just not there.

Can't be that bad surely. 3 games won ffs ?! Either badly fatigued by his 5 setter or injured. Didnt expect him to win but expected at least a set ffs. Ruud often has a 3rd set lull so who knows but not looking good.

This match will be over in 3 sets, Matteo game at present is just not there, lacking match practice hasnt been the same since he got COVID at Wimbledon and had to withdraw

Good body serve from Ruud and he wins the 2nd set 64, and leads 2 sets to love
Matteo made a little bit of an inroad into the Ruud service game in the 2nd set, being down 1-5 not enough in the end

Ruud is very underrated. He’s a pusher like Djokovic and can run and return balls over and over and over. He will also I’m sure improve his serve with time and add a little more power overall. He will win many slams. Very boring style but effective. Alcaraz is more exciting like Nadal with some epic shots and points that make the crowds stand on their feet. He will win many slams too.

Ruud has a great return of serve. He works on his serve and backhand and he can really contend for titles consistently.
