I think Novak was a bit pissed at Gael's tactics - which were supposed to be to unsettle him.

There is nothing in today's match. Nole's statement was that Gael's tactics were perhaps questionable but he needed to do what he had to.

ESPN guys were talking about their USO match in 2005 where Nole took several MTOs and Gael wasn't far behind him. But that is all way in the past and both got over it.

Thanks britbox, it's a shame that Monfils instead to try "new tactics" have not tried to play as well he played in his previous matches, it probably would have worked better for him

But that's not the point, yeah, maybe he would have lost before playing Novak, but the point is instead to act so odd if he would have played "normal" he probably would have got better result, we never know

stan has a good chance to win..closing the roof and losing the humid atmos helped his sf and also winning in 4.

I think Djokovic is so undercooked he is actually unfit. how many proper matches has he played since the frenchopen 3 months ago ? not many.

he was bothered by the afternoon humidity but djokovics seems to have some injury problems also;

so how long can Djokovic keep his level up with all this going on ?..no-one knows.

Monfils explained it. he said whenever he played against No1e that way, No1e would simply destroy him because he is a classsier player than Monfils, so he tried to win ugly, but that didn't work neither for the same reason - No1e is classier
