Novak's being a bit of a hotdog trying a "tweener" off Fritz's anticipated dropshot at the net! Even w/ 40-15, it still took a while for Taylor to hold serve in the 1st game of the 3rd set! Very impressive by ND out there today! I expected him to win, but w/ all this "hype" for Taylor to actually break thru, it's been more than routine for Nole! :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::face-with-tears-of-joy:

It's only taking this long for Fritz to break. And Novak is pissed at the crowd and the umpire. Get over it.

I still have my doubts that Fritz takes this set.

Seems like Fritz has found his serve, anyway for now.

You're kidding right? The worst qualifier can take a set off of Novak these days! Sometimes I think he allows it to get in some extra practice! Fritz can do nothing to really hurt this guy even at this age! There are some out there who shocked the world like Menšík & Van de Zandschulp who have real weapons & really served Novak off the court! I'd be shocked if Taylor has the heart to even take this to 5 sets! There's nothing special about his game; sorta like Roddick, a true one-trick pony! He needs to red-line it just to stay close w/ this old guy!:face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::face-with-tears-of-joy:

At the very least, Fritz had no visible game plan to make a match of this. And he served poorly, which was his only chance. No wonder he has an 0-11 record v Djokovic.

I wish I were a real fan of Djokovic's! I w/b so proud of him making his 4th major SF this season! He's taken over #4 in the world w/ 4830 ATP pts. overtaking Fritz! Does he really need to retire when still holding his own where it counts? :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face::face-with-tears-of-joy:

Why in God’s name should Novak retire, just because those who despise him wish he would?

There are IMO literally only two other players who can consistently best him , we certainly wouldn’t be demanding any other player in the same situation to hang it up

I think Taylor Swift was busy thinking about his marriage to whoever. I can’t stand when players are 2 sets down and suddenly decide to fight in the third. Why not start like that?

There’s still a Big 3 in tennis, and Novak is still among them, albeit as a third wheel, but still the only viable substitute if Carlos and Sinner don’t play so well. Carlos is in a slight pickle here, he’s lost his last two big matches to Novak, and he’s more likely than Sinner to fall for the old rope-a-dope, as he did in Australia.

I hope he makes a strong statement in that match, and isn’t there also “to entertain”. We have our phones for that, Chaz..
