I agree...we haven't seen FAA look this good for some time. If he can keep up this level, and Zverev doesn't raise his, this could be over in 4.

The weather is unusually cool and dry here for this time of year. More early fall than late heavy summer, which is more usual. Some commie asked today, "When have you seen the average temperature at Wimbledon hotter than the average temperature at the US Open?" No heatwave in sight, either.
FAA just broke Sasha to love, lets see if he can go on and win this match in 4
FAA has 21 FH winners so far to Sasha's Fh winners of 3

Okay moment of truth for FAA serving for the match 5-4 and the biggest GS win of his career now over 3rd seed Zverev

FAA with the biggest GS win of his career takes out the No 3 seed Zverev in 4 sets, 46 76(7) 64 64, as usual Zverev was too passive
The best tennis I have seen from FAA this year! 51 winners
Well done and you are into the 2nd week, for the first time since 2021!
FAA will play Rublev for a spot in the QFs

Fantastic win for Felix! Frosty at the net from Zed, for no good reason. Let the excuse-making begin.

Moxie, I had to post this it makes me chuckle, just saying :)

Zverev thinks he can "Spoil Party" for Sinner and Alcaraz!
Alexander Zverev believes he is closer to beating Sinner and Alcaraz than people think!

FAA vs Rublev
de Minaur vs Riedi
One of them will reach the SFs
FAA is actually the only former GS SF of the four

Match between Bublik and Paul tied up at 2 sets all
Going 5 another late night for Tommy Paul!
Paul is struggling he looks exhausted has nothing left in the tank is down a double break in the 5th set, a reason why it is good especially for the 1st week of a GS to win in 3 sets or 4 sets on not be on the court for too long, you need all your energy reserves for the business end of a GS, Tommy had a tough long 5 sets match on Thursday with a late finish and it has caught up with him sad to say
Bublik d Paul 76(5) 67(4) 63 67(5) 61

One American still alive in the 2nd week, Taylor Fritz last years finalist.

Paul looked injured in the fourth and 5th sets serving three-quarter paced serves.

There was only one service break in three hours of tennis - prior to the 5th. I don't recall this happening before on a hardcourt.

Paul did win the 4th set in a TB, I notice he was limping in the 5th set, he has had a history of feet problems, though to me he had 'hit a wall in the 5th set' and had nothing left in the tank. Tommy also on Thursday night a tough 5 set match which was long, which probably didnt help his cause in his match against Bublik who deserved his win

The summer pretty much ended on August 17 in NYC this year. The pattern started to turn cooler around August 1. If not for the August 12-17 heatwave, summer would have pretty much ended on July 31.

But knowing that the heat has been absent the last 2 years at the US Open, I'm willing to bet we are due for record heat at the US Open next year. The hottest US Open is still 1953 (the year Maureen Connelly completed the calendar slam).

They better test him on halucinogens. Don't really care for his results anymore

Too bad for Shapo yesterday. He had momentum and played well in the 3rd set up to a 3:0 and a break, but his game fell apart since that moment (Sinner raised his level too).

Wong put up a good fight against Rublev. Never heard of the guy before.

Wong a Chinese player, his family moved to Spain so he could train at the Rafa Nadals Academy, his current singles ranking is 173
BTW I posted this news on the ATP News, this wont surprise you, as it didnt surprise me Medvedev has parted with his coach Gilles Cervara, they have been together since 2017, after Medvedev's meltdown the other day I can safely say Cervara has had enough, he sat there while Daniil became 'unhinged ' and his wife just hung her head.

That's what I appreciate about his career. Alex de Minaur may not be as talented as other players, but he puts his head down and work. He really gets the most out of his

Meanwhile, you got Rune and Zverev yapping about how they are part of the Big 3 or how they can Sinner and Alcaraz, only to lose early. Prove it first before you start running your mouths.

Yeah that’s the difference. Effort and a common sense approach to each match. Nothing is given in tennis, nothing is guaranteed. Sissypussy trying to create drama at the net shaking hands when he lost is a clear sign that he’s deranged and pretentiously sees himself as being someone. Zverev, Medvedev. All lost GS finals from two sets up - and it’s no coincidence.

The Minotaur is a beast, never going to win big but never going to be a pushover either…
