Zed ko'd by FAA. Who's he going to blame on this one? Seems sitting at Toni's and Nads feet is not translating to the match court.
Both Toni and Rafa told Zed in his training block 'too passive' and he has to go after his shots, that has fallen again on deaf ears as Sasha continues to play passive especially when he has a lead in a match.

He’s a Himbo. A tall pretty boy with startled eyes. He’s not the man they say he is, such is when “many people” say that he’s “the best player of recent generations without a major title to his name.” He’s not really, or if he is, then “recent generations” is a put down.

He’s nobody’s idea of a grand slam champion..

Not really all that pretty. At least not on a Dimi or even a Domi scale.

Arthur Rinderknech vs. Carlos Alcaraz Highlights | 2025 US Open Round 4

Did any of you see the half-volley, behind-his-back winner Carlos hits in the first set?

It's a shot right out of this world!

Good to read #4 seed Taylor Fritz reaches the quarterfinals, winning 6-4,6-3,6-3 vs. frenchman #21 Tomas Machac.

I been looking at the stats on points won on his first and second-serve and without once facing a break-point.

Real decisive stuff -

Win % on 2nd serve94%

Win % on 1st serve91%

Thanks. That'll be one to watch. Hoping it will be prime time scheduled-match as it suits me living in AU.

I just sat there and laughed my head off, Carlos made that looked easy, he pulls those kind of shots from nowhere :)

In the words of Lawrence Fishborn in "John Wick 3," "the man, the myth, the legend, Novak Djokovic;" his GOATness! Makes another USO QF! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
You still rooting for Djokovic? I thought you didn't care, now that Fedalovic is over. What about hoping for a US winner? ;)

Did Novak had the trainer out in his match today, he has had blisters, and lower back pain where he needed to go off court?
Maybe he is running out of body parts:)

This time it was his shoulder, but didn't seem to hamper him.

BTW,
By reaching the USO QFs Alcaraz has become the youngest man in the Open Era to reach 13 QFs at the majors displacing Boris Becker from the top of the list

How much more winning outside of Fedalovic do you want? :dance2: Sincaraz have won the last 8 Biggies including Jannik's victory at the YEC last yr.! You know how it is; the old veteran gets the sympathy adulation, hope, & applause! People are still going nuts over Venus & she's 45! It wouldn't bother me at all if Novak were to get past Fritz, then go down in the SF to Alcaraz! That's a huge accomplishment for any player, 4 major SF's; esp. 1 at 38 yrs. old! If he somehow wills himself past Carlos, again it wouldn't bother me at all if Sinner takes another USO! The draw did open up for Djokovic to m/b surprise the world! Everything's gravy now for this man! Novak's done more than enuf to override the relentless fawning of the "Fedal Disciples" in the future when all the emotional favoritism has died out! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface::astonished-face:

The reason people say that--and really, most say he's the best of the Open Era--is because he's got the best statistical record of any non-Slam winner of the Open Era and, at this point, it isn't particularly close. Consider:

2 Tour Finals (only non-Slam winner to win it twice)
1 Olympics
7 Masters (most by non-Slam winners, +2 over Rios)
24 overall titles (5th most by non-Slam winners after Okker 34, Ferrer 27, Clerc and Gottfried 25)
3 GS finals (tied with Ruud for most without winning)

We can say that there were more brilliant non-Slam winners, in terms of peak ability (e.g. Nalbandian, Rios, Mecir), but in terms of career resume, he's top of the pack, ahead of guys like Okker, Gottfried, Ferrer, etc.

Anyhow, to me this makes him an interesting figure, historically speaking. If he won a Slam, he'd sort of be like another Goran Ivanisevic: blocked by better players in his prime, but improbably snuck one out when no one was expecting it. In truth, Zverev's record looks very similar to the better single Slam winners like Ivanisevic, Chang, Roddick, Orantes, Gerulaitis, etc.
