Maria Sakkari after her defeat,

" Maybe I need to take a break.I am suffering on the court but I cant make a decision right now. My mind isnt clear and its difficult I am constantly trying to improve.Maybe I need more time to reach where I want to be. I truly feel that I'm making a great effort, especially in the physchological aspect"
Sakkari also added she felt nervous and anxious during the match

What a match between Stephens and Haddad Maia - battle royale and they both deserved to win. It's the Brazilian who finally won after 3 h - well done ladies.

I feel bad for the Goddess and Miss Ebony Smooth
I really think Sakkari needs to take a break from tennis, mentally she cannot cope on court at present, she alluded to the fact that she cant make a decision, and her mind isnt clear, that to me signals a break, I hope she does take a break.Other tennis players like Andreescu and Osaka have taken breaks due to mental fatigue
Sloane was her own enemy in the 3rd set too many UFE sad to say and her BP conversion rate 4/15?

Ok, the obligatory scheduling complaint: Tiafoe’s match ended 15-20 minutes ago, the night session doesn’t begin until 7 PM. That leaves nearly 3 hours of Arthur Ashe with no activity. Why not put on another women’s match? There could be time to do that, and still be able to do the day-to-night session switch.

Good to see Aussie Tomljanovic having her first match back this year after having knee surgery, she made the QFs at the USO last year, won the 2nd set 62 0ver Udvardy, Udvardy won the 1st set 63
Tomljanovic wins in 3 sets, good tough win seeing she hasnt played in over 1 year
Tomljanvic 36 62 64

BTW Apparently Maria Sakkari smelt cannabis in her match today? not the first time I have heard players mention it.

So she is blaming weed for her loss...lol
LOL! I dont think so, she just made mention, there were players last year that said that same thing? I dont know how fans get away with it, also fans trying to sneak a ciggie, I know at the AO if you are caught smoking you are shown the door, which I agree with, I dont want to inhale cig smoke

I knew German Laura Siegemund would be a first round tricky opponent for Coco
Coco needs to stay on her present game and stick to the game plan.

I am surprised by Siegmund..how come she never play like this all the time.Well she has lost the set...she better wake up because this match will be over in a hurry.
