Who do you think would win a Raonic/Nishikori final? (Sure, I'm assuming they're both going to win their SFs, but it's fun to speculate.)

Realistically, Kei. There are 2 reasons:
1. Milos lost all his encounters with Kei on HC (defeated him only on grass)
2. The home court advantage. The arena is filled to tilt when he is playing. These fans are the most devoted you can one desire. I know how much the Japanese love their sport heroes and Kei is developing into a Huge one. It will be very difficult to anyone to play in such an arena against him.
Also, I watched last night Milos, while his serving games are very dominating, his ROS is still very pale. He needs much more work.
Kei will need mental lapses, for Milos to win, I think

We're on opposite sides of this final, Herios, but may the best man win. :)

I'm going with Kei in three.

No issues tented.
I got used to the fact when it comes to Milos, on one is usually me and Murat, the rest of the forum is jammed on the other side:laydownlaughing
And if he plays Rodge, Murat flips on the other side as well:snigger

Dude, when that happens I play the " Milos is young , he has a lot of titles ahead of him " card...:snigger
And I will complain, because I use that card aslo for Nole;)

Nishikori has taken the first set in a tie breaker. It is on serve in 2nd set with Kei leading
at a score of 2-1.

Another title for Nishi ??

Most definitely 7-6 4-6 6-4. Too bad he didn't bring anywhere near this level to the USO final.

Congrats Kei on winning yet another title.

Now he is at the top of the list of six contenders for the three open spots and has
almost 500 points lead over the next guy in the list. For all practical purposes,
assured of a spot in WTF.

I think for Kei, winning his home nation tourney must be even sweeter than the points. Good for him! :clap

Whether you like him or not, spare a thought for Milos who has lost 3 consecutive Tokyo finals. :cry

Well done Kei.

I am really starting to like this young rivalry between these two. Contrasting styles help. Some of the timely returns that Kei came up with were amazing. Some forehands Milos hit were just huge.

I am a fan of both.

Clearly Kei isn't too injured so which is good. Thinking he was I was giving more of a shot to Milos winning here.

He didn't seem injured, but he was emotionally and physically exhausted by the end. Big win in front of the home crowd, after being in his first GS final. The pressure was enormous, but he handled it.

Very happy for Kei Nishikori. Really fun to watch, especially taking down the giant, Raonic. If physically they can keep Kei together, it will be a huge boon to the sport.

Chang seems to be of great benefit to him. Kudos there as well.
