Zverev has become the fourth player to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin ( after he advanced to the SFs in Vienna with a walkover from Griekspoor)

Joao Fonseca has a very slim chance of breaking into the top 20 before the year's over. Right now he's at #24 in the race rankings, 483 points behind #20 (Tommy Paul). He'd need to go deep in Paris (or win it) and play in Athens or Metz and do well. And of course he'd need to play better than the guys around him in the race rankings. So unlikely, but worth a mention. Either way he'll end the year in the top 30, so will be seeded for the Australian Open.

I am going to the AO in 2026 so I am excited to watch Fonseca 'live'.

Fun fact: With Fritz and Shelton all but guaranteed spots in the Tour Finals, the last time the US had two men in the Tour Finals was....drum roll....

2006: Andy Roddick (RR) and James Blake (Final)

Jack Sock made it in 2017 with Sam Querrey as an alternate, but Querrey didn't play.

It will be really annoying if FAA loses in the final, and Musetti wins Athens, sneaking into that 8th slot. If FAA loses tomorrow, he might want to consider jetting over to Metz or Athens. He needs 81 points to be "Musetti-proof," which is a 250 semifinal (100 pts).

Felix has already entered Metz, he is the top seed

Updated ATP Race November 1st,
FAA passes Musetti
8. FAA 3,845 ( Paris F), if Felix loses in Paris final, he needs SF in Metz to confirm qualification in Turin
9. Musetti 3,685, he needs title in Athens and for Felix to lose before the SF in Metz to qualify for Turin
10. Bublik 2,870 will be the 2nd alternate in Turin

NOTE. Lets see after Djokovic plays Athens tournament if he decides to play the ATP finals in Turin?

Now that Jannik's won in Paris, let's re-look at the path to YE #1.

Going into the ATP Finals:
11050 Alcaraz
10000 Sinner

+1050 Alcaraz

Jannik is YE #1 if...
  • He wins the Finals undefeated (+1500) with 11500 points, and Alcaraz wins two RR matches or less (+400) finishing with max 11450.
  • He wins the Finals while losing one RR (+1300) with 11300 points, and Alcaraz wins only one RR or less (+200) finishing with 11250.
Either way, Jannik has to win in Turin to finish as #1. Carlos doesn't have to win a RR match if Jannik goes out in the SF or RR. If Carlos wins all three RR matches and/or two and the SF, he's year-end #1 no matter what Jannik does.

El Dude,
Felix said he wont go to Metz this week, said he battled many physical issues this week and doesnt want to make a mistake with his health for the future.
