Hubie goes a bit off the boil, and PCB breaks at love.

Absorb this for some perspective: PCB is steady and sturdy and has been as high as #10 in the world. This is only his 7th career title, and his first MS1000.

Sorry to quote myself, but I was thinking about these 7 titles. Surely he could have won more titles if he'd played more smaller events? He's always there at the big tournaments. And for his "paltry" 7 titles, I think this title will put him over $14 million in prize money, so there is THAT consolation. He's backed himself to play against the best players, and the reward has been more $$ than titles. Happy for him for this satisfying win today. Also, to note: he won DC for Spain in 2019.

Well done..PCB is teaching those young next Gen like FAA , Denis and Tiafoe that's it's not about the big shots or weapons but being a consistent ball striking but high tennis IQ that's important.
As I like to say, PCB knew what needed to happen out there. Too bad there aren't enough men on the ATP who get it or women on the WTA for that matter.
