I just saw this in a Turkish Newspaper. She was not much of a player it seems like but someone so young, dying on the tennis court is just so sad...

Sad but did anybody catch this from the article "Even though she was ranked 1,084 in the world at the time of her death — with her highest ranking at 947 — Degtiareva never actually managed to win a major title."

Ya, I did. It sounded very funny. They probably meant, she did not win a title even in the
challenger/itf/newbie tourneys.
