I created this thread just so I have a place to comment that DUSTIN BROWN IS IN THE HOUSE -- or at least he is in the Qualifying tournament, playing the number #1 seed (D. Novak). I am sure I read somewhere that he had retired so for me that was quite good news.

Also, Gulbis won his first round match.

I also noticed a French player M. Janvier in the qualifying draw. Doesn't that mean "Mr. January," and therefore, shouldn't he be a threat to win the whole tournament?

Apparently some players have struggled with the breathing conditions and some have abandonned their matches... I wonder if things will get better or worse but many articles are questioning wether the tournament should happen or not...

They should just cancel the AO and credit the title to the number one player in the world.

I dont not think that will happen,we have 3 roofs in Melbourne, also it depends on the wind with the smoke haze,we also have had it bad in Sydney but at the moment it is okay.A couple of days ago the air quality in Melbourne was good. The are specialist's monitoring the air quality at the AO,for all the players, ball balls etc.At present the officials will delay the start of qualifying, like they did yesterday,we are on daylight saving which is a advantage as well.It is unfortunate this has happened, hopefully when the AO starts we will have playable conditions for all players, ball boys, umpires, and fans.

Jung, Young, Chung.... were you trying to rhyme?

This guy Jung could play another guy on the ATP called Simon Freund (no joke, check the ATP site). I guess that would be quite a psychological match.

Haha! Good 1. If that happens it could be a friendly though as a freund is a friend.

Gulbis is still in, Rosol is out. Also, Troicki retired out.
