You could be right. Aga never seems to do well against Maria.

Having seen both matches that Aga won. The thing she did well was a lot of first serves and she moved Maria around the court and forced her into errors by giving her one more ball to hit. She used her variety to ill affect (similar to her AO performance over Vika). It was a thing of beauty. That being said, it was on hards. This is clay and Maria has more time to setup for Aga's weak 2nd serve.
