Serenea folds, protecting herself or serious injury issue? does anyone know.

No official reason given, according to this from Sports Illustrated.

Disappointing to see Serena withdraw. Pova will step up and fight to the death for the title now that her kryptonite is no longer a factor.

Daria does it again! She is having a great 2015. Daria vs Pova next round? I hope Vika gets there instead, but I am not optimistic.

Go, Petra.

The level of competitiveness always goes down significantly with Serena out, but there are still a few potentially great battles: Sharapova/(hopefully) Azarenka, plus Kvitova/Suarez Navarro, with the winner facing (most likely) Halep.

After Murray, Serena withdraws as well... Everyone is getting into French Open mode I guess. But hey! Kvitova is still in and faves CSN next. This could be a tough match for Petra. I sure would like to see a Kvitova-Halep match though.

Just tried to watch a Azarenka match but can't do it. That hooting remains one of the most annoying things in women's tennis for me. And even Begu is hooting.

Li Na asked her trainer to work with Petra upon her retirement. It must have been a parting gift because Li had such affection for Petra. Those training sessions are paying off. Petra has never been fitter. The improvement in endurance and movement is allowing her to have more confidence. She does have what it takes to be number one.

Looking forward to the Vika vs Pova match. This is the true rivalry.

Not sure one can discern she isn't still a headcase from one and half tournament results.

Exactly, I like Petra, but she has put together a string of results before and then gone off the deep end out of nowhere. Let's wait and see what she does for the rest of the year.

I wonder why they did not schedule the Christina vs. Daria match in the centre court? :snicker

I'm really confused why Petra looks so sluggish and out of sorts vs. CSN.
She's making CSN look like Henin out there.
Maybe she's tired and wants an early break before Paris. Score line 6-3, 3-0 right now:huh:

And CSN takes it, 6-3, 6-2.
Moves onto Halep. Congrats CSN.:clap
Petra on to prep for Paris.

Roller coaster Kvitova loses in straight sets 63 62 to Carla Suarez Navarro - well we know Kvitova again don't we - no unusual loss me thinks.

We'll see what happens in a couple weeks
