Vika in all kinds of trouble. Won the opener 7-5, but is down 5-2 in the 2nd. She has 14 DF already.

Think she's back up in the third...she was fist pumping from the first ball so I think confidence might be an issue. Hradecka is primarily a doubles player so this should have been a warm up match for Vika...on a regular day

Vika's problem is mostly nerves. She loses racquet head speed on her serves so that she is, in effect, pushing the ball over the net to start the point. These DFs may be her undoing going forward. Losing 2-3 games just on serves is not going to cut it against the top players. I hope she gets a handle on this because I enjoy watching her play.

Nothing against Bencic, but happy for Daria!

Bouchard got lucky in her draw. She should finally break her losing streak with her next match.

I think Caro has the edge tomorrow. Vika is coming off a long match yesterday and Caro is playing with more confidence than when Vika beat her in Australia.

Is Serena injured? Her serve speed was low during the ten minutes I was watching.

Not so fast on Genie. Diyas can be quite competitive and we've seen Genie's implosion cycle. She can lose to anyone right now.

Saw one good match today Gavrilova against Ana. Hope some of you saw that too it's very nail biting and hard fought match. A pity that you can't have an even match but always have to have a winner - they were both winners. Gavrilova will be the next high hope of Australia as soon as she can control her play still too rushed.

I like Ana, but happy for Daria! I think this is the last time I will say this for Rome. Timea will probably defeat her.

Bouchard prevails, but that is probably the end. Carla should be too tough in the next round.
