Efortless Fognini, he is a joy to watch on clay when he gives his best on a court.

Meanwhile Novak is back with that arm compress thing. Down a break in a first set.
I don’t think the break will last long. Novak will break back in the next few games. Probably now in this 8 minute game …

EDIT: Back on serve.

And it just happened. Novak is looking much sharper than in Banja Luka a few weeks ago.

F3 hit 42+ winners in SS win over the 30 seed Kecmanovic
He's so funny...loves playing in Italy, because he hasn't looked this good all year +. Some people held up a great big sign after he won, "Siamo tutti un po' Fognini" ("We're all a little bit Fognini") which I took to mean a little bit crazy. :face-with-tears-of-joy: His boy came on the court after. He's gotten big! Very cute.

They keep naming all their children with F as a part of family tradition, Federico, Farah and Flaminia, latter 2 are girls.

Novak got some pills again? He was bending and spitting behind the court, next to camera man.

Novak totally dug out that set, feeling far from well, clearly. Echeverry to lose heart now? He played a great first set with nothing to show for it.

What’s the story with Novaks arm? Is it kinda like the hamstring ‘injury’ in Australia? A kind of prop he uses to deflect pressure, his readymade excuse? Because the hamstring was fine except for a few performative limps when he needed them, and the arm seems okay too…

Nadal at 25% of his powers would have beaten Djokovic or Etcheverry today 6-2, 6-1. Hopefully Nadal will be back soon.

Most likely he forgot, like the clowns we sometimes see caught on camera working out in the gym, though they made an insurance claim after slipping down the stairs of a double decker bus. We’ve had a few of them. Some funny stories too. One bus crashed and tilted over outside the Lord Edward pub - and the pub immediately emptied out as punters clambered onto the bus in search of discarded tickets, then rolled around the ground in agony, making sure the ticket was prominently seen. There must have been about 200 injured ‘victims’ on that bus.

It’s always very satisfying when they’re kicked out of court. Unfortunately this arm will be tried on a different type of court. Twenty minute MTOs will be the norm. It shows the lengths this bloke will go to win. He’d stomp his granny to death on a busy highway if it resulted in a W after his name…

Maybe we need to call Craig Tiley and get a 'expert opinion' :)
