Former world No 7, Richard Gasquet, will try to join elite company in Rome.Gasquet is 2 wins from 600 tour level victories in his career. Gasquet can become the 4th active player to achieve the feat, joining Nadal ( 1,068), Djokovic (1,048) and Murray (725). Gasquet already the all time wins leader for Frenchmen. Gasquet will play Wu Yibing, 1st rd, if he advances will face 24th seed Francisco Cerundolo ( the dangerous Cerundolo)

Surprised that Gasquet has more career wins than Wawrinka and Cilic. Without looking it up, I gotta think they've got at least 550 wins and are really close as well.

Gasquet: 598-375 (61.5%); GS 115-68 (62.8%)
Wawrinka: 551-331 (62.5%); GS 151-62 (70.9%)
Cilic: 581-327 (64%); GS 138-56 (71.1%)

Notice the differences in overall W% vs GS. Gasquet is +1.3% as Slams; Wawrinka is +8.4% and Cilic +7.1%.

I've only just begun my draw challenge, and there is a potential Wawrinka v. Djokovic. Except that Wawrinka would have to get past Dimitrov first, and I doubt he's there. Too bad, because that would be fun, as an early-round match.

Barring injury, Cilic should be able to get to 600 wins, and probably by the end of the year. He could even get to 150 slam wins sometime in 2024, maybe even this year with good results in the slams.

Wawrinka will probably fall short of 600, unless he plays past the 2024 Olympics.

Wawrinka is really overweight right now, I'd say at least a few kilos. His boobs in slow mo are funny, bouncing up and down :face-with-tears-of-joy:.

But we can see some vintage Stan shots against Ivashka. Tough conditions today in Rome, rainy and damp.
