The Tournament:

The Vienna Open (currently sponsored by Erste Bank and called the Erste Bank Open) is a professional tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. Originally an event of the Grand Prix tennis circuit (1974–1989), it is currently part of the ATP World Tour 500 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour. It is held annually at the Wiener Stadthalle, in Vienna, Austria, since 1974.

About Vienna:

Vienna is the national capital, largest city, and one of nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primate city, with a population of about 1.9 million (2.6 million within the metropolitan area, nearly one third of the country's population), and its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 7th-largest city by population within city limits in the European Union.

Until the beginning of the 20th century, it was the largest German-speaking city in the world, and before the splitting of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in World War I, the city had 2 million inhabitants. Today it is the second largest German-speaking city after Berlin and just before Hamburg. Vienna is host to many major international organizations, including the United Nations, OPEC, and the OSCE. The city is located in the eastern part of Austria and is close to the borders of Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Thiem gets Tsonga first round. That's a tough call. I found this tournament hard to pick in my draw challenge.

Agree @Moxie, too many tough calls. A few more interesting first round matches like Rublev-FAA and Khachanov-Hurkacz.

Did you even try to do the draw challenge? It's a mine field. LOL!

I did and picked Monfils to win :drums:I could probably do better picks if I just did it blindly.

Some of the early rounds are so much of a coin flip, you could end up anywhere. I think I ended up with Berrettini winning.

d.thiem is the man to beat he's becoming a better hard court player every season like to see him at least make the final.
Maybe, if he gets past Tsonga in the first round.

Upper half of the draw is much stronger. Hopefully the Austrian will not get through the Spanish Armada.
Would like to see Karen or Matteo win the title.
