I'm so glad Roger won his 6th Cinci title.

Half a dozen beautiful vases. ;) :snigger

Yeah. I'm forecasting a rummage sale in his near future. He can wholesale the Cinci vases and throw in the Madrid golden toiletbrush as a freebie. :lolz:

Federer's legs were beginning to go already in the first set. You could see he was shaky when he was planting, which led to him taking a lot of pace off his shots in order to keep the balls in play in the 2nd. Ferrer got hot off those balls.

3rd set, Federer gave everything he had energy wise to run out in front. 10-1, he would have lost a 4th or 5th set if it came down to it.

I've actually never seen him so tired and shaky outside of his mono bouts in 08

Do we think Fed will participate in the senior's tour? He may pull a Lendl and disappear for a decade or two first.

Roger did what he had to do and he's been playing well of late. He has a good chance in New York, as good as anyone not named Novak.

and halle is a 500event next year..so slightly more awesome than this year lol.

Folks may not believe this, but I was pulling for Roger to win. (OK, I wanted David to do well, and I'd have been glad for him, if he'd won. I voted for Ferrer in 3, just because someone had to. :snigger) But it seemed critical that Federer prove his mettle and commitment to take this title which was being all but handed to him. I'm not emotionally prepared for the tectonic shift that will come when Federer doesn't seem viable anymore. I think most tennis fans feel that way, no matter who they root for.

I actually thought he looked pretty fresh, given last night, and played a lot of very fine tennis. This puts him in a great place going into the Open, and that's good to see.

Because of today's win? If so, he's having quite a day.

i think im right in saying fed will be leading in USO series whether he wins or loses right??

No, they double the points for folks who win points through three different events.
So, Fed will be lucky if he places in USO Series. Isner will win the series if he wins
the W-S Open otherwise Milos wins it.

Congratulations to Federer!!!! Amazing title #80. I am frankly more happy for some of his fans: BB, DF,GSM, IH, than anything else.:D
