Does Ferrer get the most minimal advantage of freshness, or does Federer take him to 16-0 in the H2H?

I like Phederer. I wouldn't mind Pherrer (as much) it weren't phor his annoying grunting. I'm usually phor the underdog. But I just can't go against Phederer in this one. R Eph in two.

The TV commentators were discussing about a 5-set match in which Edberg apparently
came to the net 254 times. That is unbelievable to me.

It means that people will discredit this win because he didn't face Djokovic or Nadal.

A little lapse in concentration by Roger combined by David stepping it up a tad gave David a set in the Toronto match. But Fed looks all business , in the last couple of matches especially. I will go with number 16 in straight sets, but would not mind a competitive match.

Well, those people always have a hard time explaining how a certain player not being good enough to make the final is somehow the other player's fault/problem who was good enough to get there.

What happens if he loses it? Can he get just the asterisk? They'll tatoo it in the back of his neck?

:lolz:

I see more Fed fans coming back to post sensing The Swiss Maestro might be on a verge of winning a Masters 1000 event. Good for you, your guy is playing really well, maybe not in all matches but he keeps putting himself in winning position and I am sure today he will lift this trophy; nice and easy in 2.:D

I hope not. Otherwise I would be very worried about our friend Darth here.;)

33 year old versus 32 year old.
Remember when 30 was the end in Tennis?
Not anymore...

Elder in straights.

if he can lose to Robredo at the US Open (after making the final of Cincy), then he can lose anything.

regarding asterisk, I've noticed that asterisks are not given to results in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. That's because asterisks don't last. Pointless even trying to put an asterisk on a match, because it will disappear within 10 years.

Now we have 35-year-olds winning THREE 5-setters at the US Open and taking 6-2 sets off the top seed. Oh wait.....that was 2005.
