Bianca Andreescu's lack of match play was evident in her match against Muchova who defeated her 64 62.
I wonder if she will play another tournament before the USO?

I watched that match. Coco has to learn consistency when playing the top players. Her new and improved serve works well on the lower ranked players. But she has to tailor her game a bit when playing the likes of the top 10. She lost the plot early in the 2nd and never got back on track.

It could be more than match play. I wonder if she's 100%. I didn't watch the whole match but the part I saw, she still isn't moving as well as before

Simona Halep withdraws after having a scan,it showed a small tear in right adductor.Halep feels it will be too risky to play tonight.Halep said she will do everything to be fit for the USO.
Jessica Pegula gets a walkover to the next round.

Still, good match, and great to see Osaka in good form. She served great. And went to the presser, for what it's worth.

I have to give Coco credit.the first set she took the fight to Osaka..Coco let her know that she is a good "swimmer". However Osaka met the challenge by taking young Coco out to the deepest part of the sea of Japan and the younger American couldn't make it back to shore.
