Yep he had a good chance to make the finals lets see what he can do in China, in saying that the field in China is well stacked.Speaking of Meddy. I see he lost in QF of Hangzhou
Be NiceFokina is due to earn the Julien Benneteau Award.
When he comes back, I will be rooting hard for Grigor to get his slam title. He's definitely owed one after what happened at Wimbledon.Grigor Dimitrov announced on his Instragam page that he has decided to part ways with coach Jamie Delgado amicably.
Grigor is looking forward to coming back to play on the tour soon.
Please we all know when the tough gets going Grigor folds like an envelope lol! When he comes back, I will be rooting hard for Grigor to get his slam title. He's definitely owed one after what happened at Wimbledon.
Lorenzo Musetti blew a 4-1 lead in the 3rd set tiebreak, and is unable to break his title drought, which now stands at 1066 days. Alejandro Tabilo defeats Musetti 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(5) to win Chengdu.
In Hangzhou, Bublik wins his 4th title of the year, defeating Valentin Roper in 2 tiebreaks 7-6(4), 7-6(4).
I wish we had a playoff system to determine the ATP Finals. Bublik has been hot post-Wimbledon, and would really do damage. Also, Tabilo would be a nice Cinderella story.
I don't agree with that. While I like Tabilo, dude notoriously shows up for one tourney a year and makes a deep run. That's not enough to qualify him for YEC when others have been consistent throughout the year. Bublik is doing well. He needs to apply that same level to a M1000 tournament and he could qualify for a 7 or 8 spot.

I love that idea. You could do one of several things, such:I wish we had a playoff system to determine the ATP Finals. Bublik has been hot post-Wimbledon, and would really do damage. Also, Tabilo would be a nice Cinderella story.

This means someone ranked as low as #16 could theoretically win it, but they'd have to do so by playing seven matches, while the top 4 seeds would only have to play five matches.
- Top 4 get a bye. Seeds 5-12 play against each other, with the winning 4 joining the top 4 in the usual RR format.
- Top 4 get a bye. Seeds 9-16 play a R8, then the winning 4 play Seeds 5-8. Winning 4 of that goes on to the usual RR format.
Anyhow, I'd probably go with the first one, though. I like the idea of 16 players, but the extra two rounds is a bit much.

This is just odd. I suppose Fiero is time-lapsing again, thinking its 1978.By a whole lot! Back in the day, players had t/b bribed w/ appearance $$ to do these YEC! IIRC, they just threaten to hold their YE bonuses unless excused by an injury! Players are already exhausted & broken down, now you guys want to add more work to the event? Who'd come really; no matter the $$ if owning Majors already? Again, times have changed where players aren't as desperate when Majors really didn't pay much; the Men's FO winner barely earning $42,500 in '77! Exh. & TV events were a lot more lucrative; hence Aussie Open relegated to a 3rd rate Major way back when! They've come a long way!![]()
Alcaraz is dog shit on indoor hard courts so Novak could beat him at the WTF for sure imo. Not sure how Sinner is on that surface without researching but certainly wouldn't be his best surface with the bad bounces and slow speed.Musetti blew it! Tabilo didn't win this as much as waited for UFE's from Lorenzo! I see Sinner & Alcaraz won't be renewing their rivalry in China! Carlos' playing Japan instead! I wonder why? Both are 500's! I read Novak's coming back to play Shanghai next week! I wonder will he use it as warm-up for 1 last YEC run? We'll see!![]()
