Dominic Thiem leads the H2H match up 2-0 over De Minaur including their only slam meeting at the 2017 US Open 1st Round.

By the way, this will be De Minaur's first ever slam QF appearance so great kudos to him!

I pick Thiem in three sets because he has too much firepower over Di Minaur.

Pink sheet missy will win in 3 or 4, still hoping for upset by the great Alexander.

Hopefully Thiem will finally win his first slam. He is:

5-2 against Federer (0-0 in slams)
5-9 against Nadal (1-5 in slams)
4-7 against Djokovic (2-2 in slams)

He’s done so well except in slams against GOATdal. But he definitely deserves to win a slam.

This one seems hard to pick. Thiem is on my short-list of picks to win this. (If only to piss off @Bonaca. ;) Only kidding...I like Thiem.) But honestly I don't think we've seen Dominic's A-game yet, and Blake says the surface suits Alex's game. Could be an upset.

No One Deserves To Win A Slam you have to earn it and played well to win one.

Same for me — Thiem in 3.

Thanks for creating the poll! :)

The match is so far interesting between the moustache guy and the bubble butt guy.

Thiem isn't exactly Wawarinka, but there are comparisons. Which makes this is a middle-weight v. heavy weight match. De Minaur can play better than this, but he's going to have to clean it up and get crafty, or he's going to get blown out.

And pays it back with abysmal serving of his own. DFs that break away. Not going to get the job done.

Vague and insipid fight-back from de Minaur. The question is if Thiem is looking indomitable. Not yet.

Sad to say, but the absence of the Big 3 has not inspired the Lost Gen and Next Gen to excellent tennis. Hopefully the next 2 rounds bring out something better, but, if this is what we're going to be left with, when Roger, Rafa and Novak are gone, then men's tennis is in for some lean years. Time to shake off the nerves and embrace the mantel, guys!

Team Theim....all is going per plan.

He hasn't been overly extended in any match, and am so longer forward to his matchup with Medvedev.
