Look on and cheer the old man Fed! At the very least he is the opposite of a man shooting blanks :lol6:
Cheer on grandpa Fed, huh. Not a bad idea. With 2 sets of twins we know for sure he's not shooting blanks. ;-):

Suddenly I miss the surface and the Fedal wars. I am sure they changed balls to help Nadal and started to dig holes in the ground to help Djokoivc, who is just pretending to complain.

Assessing the last 8 players remaining:

5 of them are 30+ years of age, plus
Sam is 29
Marin is 28
Milos is 26.

Definitely an aging field.
Zverev reached the 4 round for the first time in slams here, the lone really great prospect at the moment.

Grigor is OK to look at but he's gone too now. There's really nobody even in the running left in the draw. Domi maybe, but he needs a haircut.

My missus would leave me for Sir Grigor in a heartbeat. I had to assure her that he has a black heart.

Then a few months ago at IW she had a match on and was asking who the guy was "with the weird and tight shorts" because he apparently has an amazing ass. Sadly I knew she was talking about Wawrinka  and then I of course told her he would leave her stranded to concentrate on his tennis. My bases are always covered :yesyes:

Black heart. :lol6:
I can't believe she likes Wawa's ass. I guess I could see the appeal. He really doesn't have anything else to offer. He's probably the unsexiest of the top 10.

I watched a couple of sets of the Nole match. Is it safe to say the Madrid clay is faster than this? If this is what grass tennis has become, screw this.
Oh come on Murat. None of the grass warriors have complained (Venus, Fed, Muzz), it can't be that bad right?

What good is it to them to complain? They can't do anything about it but just go along...ME , on the other hand, can bitch about it as much as I want ;-):.
This is overkill though...the balls, the surface. There is no need to slow down this surface this much. There are plenty of slow surfaces already. What is the point? What is achieved when you eliminate variety from the game of tennis? Nothing.

This is why Borg's a legend and so revered by people in the know of tennis! The man was playing with a wood racket that had no real feel since the string tension made it a pane of glass! I experimented with it for a season and you're always compensating to give your shots more air due to the ball taking off "fairly dead!" Borg also had to deal with grass that was lightning quick, choppy, and gave big servers a distinct advantage! He had to survive many like Roscoe Tanner, Vijay Armitraj, & Colin Dibley! Then there were the S&V specialist like McEnroe, Nastase, & Gerulaitis to overcome! He wound up owning the most relentless baseline of his era, Jimmy Connors in semis and finals! Borg had to defeat these people multiple times in terrible grass conditions, but survived making up his own immortality by winning 5 in a row; playing 6 finals straight! This is unwatchable at times with it playing in the background while I blog!  :ptennis:

The decision to move the Coco match from No 1 to CC today just shows it wasn't about the paying customer. They could have done it yesterday, but they screwed up. I've seen how these guys work. They come up with a rationale after the fact. They gambled they could get Novak on No 1 court plain and simple

No, it was not about paying customer. See my post #1241. They could have easily moved Novak's game to CC and told the existing audience in CC that it was a bonus match for them. But, they did not make the decision in time and let the audience go. After they made that mistake, they took the right decision to move it to next day instead of creating a stampede.

Dunno. 2 sets of twins might mean IVF treatment where twins are far more common.

Why is it I continually have to remind MEN :lol3: - that women determine whether or not a pregnancy is twins NOT the man. The man determines the sex of the children - but not the number of them. Also, women in their 30s are more likely to have twins naturally - even multiple sets (see that Duggar family and their 2-3 sets of twins?) - because they're more likely ovulate 2 eggs at one time as they age. The closer to menupause, the more likely a woman is to have multiple births. If Mirka has twins in her family, then the likelihood of her having twins increases, too. So let's give Mirka some clap-back, please. Roger's not the one ovulating - and as he noted in a press conference when asked about Azarenka having a baby and returning to the courts - him giving birth would be a major miracle. :lol6:

If the Madrid clay is faster than the Wimbledon grass - then why did Nadal catch a plane back to Mallorca today? I guess the answer would be because it's still grass and it's still green?

ROTFLMAO. Man...if you're going to talk the "unsexiest" of the top 10...Sorry...I'm gonna have to say Raonic is the least sexy. At least he's stop slicking back his hair...but that's all I can say in his favor...

You made me nostalgic. Some of my earliest tennis memories are Bjorn Borg fan-girling in 1977 or so. I think he'd already won one FO\W double when I started watching tennis. Hey....I was a kid! I have a good excuse for missing the first one. After that I was hooked.

Worst Wimbledon era for boring play because the grass was lightning fast and it was all serve-volley-and-repeat or more accurately BIG SERVER-volley-and-repeat? The Sampras years - mid-90s to 2004 or so. Don't even get me started. It's part of why the grass is so slow now. People complained out the ying yang that there were no rallies. Just 2 guys hitting big serves and IF they came back they'd run to the net, knock off the volley and go back and do it all over again. I was someone who liked Pete so it didn't bother me that much, but man, there were a lot of snippy tennis purists who crapped all over the courts being too fast.

Borg's 1st "Channel Slam" was in '78 after he skipped FO in '77 to allow his good buddy Vilas to have that bone! He completed the FO/SW19 combo 2 more times in '79 & '80! It's still a rare feat since most great players seem to have a tough time winning in Paris! Connors & Sampras never played a final, McEnroe, Edberg, and others were always 1 match short! - Yeah, the matches could be boring, but it all depended on the players! Nothing was more entertaining than Gerulaitis & Borg in the '80 semi, going 5 gloriously long sets!

The reality is - now they're in a time crunch to get the women's matches completed because all 4 men's quarters are tomorrow and they need the court for that. And really - nobody wanted to see that match anyway. LOL!

Just saw the schedule and shock of shock - Murray gets to play first again and get the most rest for his SF IF he wins his match. The favoritism they show Murray never ceases to amuse me.
