Monfils should be pissed off about the court change, all the momentum was going his way after being mostly outplayed for the whole match. I feel like he only needed one more break to take the match.

Meanwhile Roger should be furious about that last service game. Monfils got lucky in a few places (he must have hit about 6 lines in the last several games), but the net flubs really hurt him (he was overhitting them b/c that dropshot get was still in his head).

A bit of a strange match actually. Roger was winning a lot of long rallies, and Monfils was hitting a lot of winners. One would have thought the reverse would be true.

Beast of a forehand from Roger gets the break. Gotta hold now.

Same start to the fourth set. I am not too thrilled about Roger's game but right now, it is all about his focus.

Overall nice quality from Fed.

Monfils frustrates the heck out of me... just plays like he doesn't seem to care.

LOL. That was one of the worst drop shots I've ever seen, Gael.

It seems that a large percentage of French players could be considered underachievers, to varying extents. Monfils, Tsonga, Chardy, Paire - all of these guys are talented and could have better results, with a stronger mental game. Even Benneteau might be one of the best players in tennis history never to win a single title, and Lucas Pouille is a young player with a lot of talent but seems slow to develop.

Nice practice session for Federer. He's pretty sharp today. Just what he needed since he's playing again tomorrow.

That's him...nothing needs to happen. The frustrating thing is a switch turns in his head and he wins 7 games in a row too...I have seen it.

I don't know if it is that he doesn't care, like the announcers are saying, but he looks exhausted.
