A.Rinderknech vs V.Vacherot Q This is their first meeting.

On Sunday, on one of the biggest stages in tennis, two cousins will clash for ATP Masters 1000 glory.

"There's going to be a match, of course.
"But today, we won everything. We couldnt win anymore".

First set for Arthur Rinderkneck 64, who is one set away from the greatest achievement of his career in Shanghai, one break made the difference, serving and playing well, 14 W and 9 UFE
Roger Federer in the house with a front row seat looking cool as usual.

Vacherot breaks the serve of Rinderknech with a DTL winner and will serve for the 2nd set 5-3
Vacherot wins the 2nd set 63, Vacherot knows how to win from being a set down, he has done it 5 times this week in Shanghai
1 set all in the 'Battle of the Cousins"
Fitting it will go 3 sets

Hey, I put a smiley face alongside Zverev's name, meaning it was a Joke okay,
What @El Dude meant was that the sad thing about *Zverev* is that he couldn't tell if that was a joke, given his previous comments... And the smiley could mean you were just laughing about the thing....

In other words it was on him, not you! Relax, my friend!!!

Vacherot up a break in the final set, Arthur has had the physio out trouble with his back, he also should forget the drop shot as it is not working for him
Vacherot leads 4-2 3rd set

Vacherot with a DTL winner, wins the Shanghai Masters 1000, being down a set he fought back and won 46 63 63 over his cousin Rinderknech
Great Hug at the net between the cousins!
From world no #204 to #40, Vacherot has become the lowest ranked player to win a Masters 1000!
All I can say what a Fairy Tale Run by Vacherot!
Rinderknech had a great tournament as well, he will have an career high ranking of #28 being a finalist in Shanghai.

Musetti reminds me of Henri Leconte! All that raw talent, but can't seem to harness it! One day he's unhitable, the next it's like he's a newbie on the tour! Have to see it to believe going down to FAA! Must've been a "slash & dash" match where Lorenzo was overwhelmed! :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
Musetti always seems overwhelmed when he plays someone equally talented or clearly better than him. Every time he plays in a final or Sinner/Alcaraz/Djokovic in the last 3 years, he falls short. The only time Musetti wins is when he has a clear advantage in talent over the other player, and sometimes, he still isn't automatic (see the losing streak after the French Open).

With how great a talent Musetti is, you'd think he'd have a week where he won a title in the last 3 years, even if by accident. Something is missing with this guy.

Please you can have all the talent in the world, though without the 'belief, grit, focus and determination' it will get you no where, that is what is missing from Musetti as I have watched him since his junior days! I could also name a few other players on the tour with the same problem.

Loved this quote after the match from Vacherot,

" It is unreal what just happened. I have no idea what is happening right now. I am not even dreaming, it is just crazy. I am just so happy with my performances the past 2 weeks. There has to be one loser but I think there is two winners today, one family that won. And I think for the sport of tennis, the story is unreal".

Just trying to get confirmation, after according to Eterno a Schiaffo, via Luca Deianna, and also other media outlets, Jannik Sinner is expected to play Vienna, but skip Paris Masters, before competing in the ATP Finals. Sinner will not play the DC in November, ( seeing Sinner has led Italy in the DC for the last 2 years, so the potential scheduling makes sense)
Having to retire at the Shanghai Masters, mathematically Sinner cannot challenge Alcaraz for the No 1 year ranking
Jannik has done a promo for Paris Masters, though that dosent mean he will play ( in 2024 Sinner had to withdraw late due to a virus)

45 years ago Bjorn Borg won his last ever match in Stockholm 63 64 in the 1980 final against John Mac
Tonight, his son Leo Borg, won his first ever match in Stockholm 63 64 against Sebastian Ofner
