I see Stan's been knocked out already! Passing out these WC for old times sake is so frustrating! He's had his time; "pls leave the stage gracefully!" Seems to be like a Senior Open w/ Wawrinka, then Novak who's to play Cilic, who overcame Basilashvili in the 1st Rd.! At least Monfils & Dimitrov gave up their spots! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: Will Medvedev still play next Rd.? Haven't heard anything much since his retirement w/ an injury! :ambulance: :fearful-face::astonished-face:

I know you know that older multiple slam winners with name recognition/longevity are a marketing tool for these tournaments….

Wawrinka can't draw flies IMO! He's just not one of those players I'd go out of my way to see! He had a great game that was wasted due to his being a "headcase" & unable to deal w/ Fedal on any level! He competed his best against Djokovic scoring him those 3 Majors! I blame NOVAK for not shutting him down totally! :face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face:

Tell that to the Chinese fan I saw in the stands with a Stan sticker on his face, cheering like mad! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Roger speaking truth, for those who think we can dismiss the past by paying attention only to the present.

“With the ball speed and the court speed, every week is basically the same, you can go from the French, Wimbledon, US Open playing the same way…”

Roger is the only lock, and he's the only person I voted for. I'm not sure why JMDP is eligible for this one, as he played in ATP tournaments in 2022.

In Shanghai one of these players will reach the QFs,
Goffin
Cerubdolo
Diallo
Bergs,

Players have said the court is much slower than in previous years, though the humidity is still a factor

Zverev won his match but got an injury. Will he pull out in the next round....?
What was the injury? I dont usually watch his matches unless he is playing one of my favorite players
He has been on social media complaining about the court speed in Shanghai and officials have slowed down all courts to accommodate Alcaraz and Sinner so they can meet in the finals? Zverev is 'such a treat' isnt he, he has sour grapes because he 'hasnt the game' to compete with Alcaraz or Sinner, he is the biggest 'excuse maker in the ATP. At least he made me laugh :)
BTW Whinger, Carlos withdrawing from Shanghai has really opened up the draw for you? lets see if you can use it!

Zverev's injured his toe, when he was about to serve for the match, he was in pain and a physio was called, his toe was taped and he went onto serve out the match.I dont think he will withdrew in his next match, apparently he appeared okay after he served out his match, according to the report I just read.
BTW Zverev has a day off to get over his toe injury.
