How do you feel about Halep..Did you loose respect for her afterwards how she tried to defend Illie
If you're asking me do I like her support of him, I do not. But I don't know what's behind that and neither do you. We can't know what's been said behind closed doors. They may have asked Simona not to be too harsh with him. All that aside, it doesn't impact my belief in her ability as a tennis player. I won't root against her because of it. It's not like she cheated or even had some questionable unsportmanlike conduct.

I agree..like I said I lost some respect for her but I still like to see her win a grand slam tournament

On Chatrier Garcia v Pliskova is a cracker.

Meanwhile tournament favourite Simona Halep is getting the Ostapenko treatment. Loses the first set 6-3 (was 5-0 down).

Svitolina skipped the 'how to close a match when you're 5-2 up in the 2nd' class :negative:. Onto the tiebreak...

So Chokolina will never forget this match. It would be different if she hadn't gone away in the 3rd, but just to give up like that. No wonder people like Kerbie, Stosur, Mugu all went off the deep end after winning slams and/or being #1. Who is going to take over the mantle from Serena? None of these chicks are stepping up to the plate. :nono:

Chingis up a set and a break in the doubles. Martina hasn't won this event since 2000 (she won mixed doubles with Paes in 2016), and hasn't won a GS since her split from Mirza. Would be nice to see her take this one.

In 2000, she won jointly with Mary Pierce. Such a long time ago.

I will never pay to watch Karolina or Svitolina...bratty and boring players....I might pay to watch Ostapenko because she is full of drama..

Someone here once compared Pliskova to Kevin Anderson. I agree with that comparison.

You think Pliskobot is similar to KA? I think the more real comparison would be to Milos Raonic. Someone who can defeat the top players here and there, but lack the mobility, mental toughness and point construction to win a major anywhere except Wimby.
