I casted my vote for Simona, because she took a real step today in her match v. Svitolina.
Normally Simona would have given up after being broken in the 2nd set, but she was broken twice and subsequently increased her level.
I think she might be riding a high into this Pliskova match which will see her through. She knows she doesn't have to see Serena or Maria in the final so that's additional motivation.

Also Pliskova can be a head case...so there's that

Weather seems to be good. No rain in the forecast. It's already 6pm over there so if it goes 3 sets, they should finish long before dark.

After Comey left the center court, Pliskova started playing well. Hope, Halep can come back.

You know my thoughts are that I still root for Halep although I did loose respect for her regarding her about how she tried to defend Illie statement regarding Serena as he was joking..although she probably meant no harm she should have been smart enough to stay away from that racist bigot comments..

I am not telling you how to think but let's cut Simona a "solid" or give her a mulligan on this one because she is still young and have time to grow to be wise,

Pliskobot will not be able to win the majority of these baseline rallies in the 3rd set. She will get tired and start pressing. Errors will come.

Pliskova will sure win slams soon. She has better chances on fast courts though.

Yes they were..Halep played too cautious..just like she did versus Sharapova..Congrats..I am glad she won..when Serena leaves she is gonna be my new favorite
