Good that Ostapenko could end with a win - nicely done too. Pliskova was in the semi and played rather flat.

Who will join Pliskova in the semi - Garbiñe Muguruza or Venus Williams?

Sudden death for these two. I'm going with Garbine to advance.

I am going with Venus :)

but overall I am slightly disappointed with WTA Finals. Every day one of the matches is too weak, with one the girls losing without effort.

I wish Hingis would take a shot at playing singles again just to demonstrate she is still a top player. I think she has proven she is the best of doubles players and she is still so sly on court with her play--quite cerebral. I will miss her.

She did try and it did not work out. She tried in Fed cup to play singles and lost miserably. She realized she is no where near competitive now in singles and that is why she stuck to doubles on her current comeback.

Glad that Vee made it to SFs. It would have been a bummer if she did not make it, considering the banner year she had in Slams. Even thought she did not win a Slam this year, she probably has more points from GSs than any other player (have not exactly checked, but I think it is true).

So, this is probably the first WTF in which none of the Grand Slam Champions (Serena, Osta, Garbage, EbonySmooth) did not even make it to the semifinals.

Woz lost in a three set thriler so RED group will be settled in the last round robin singles match can it be better. Look above how the scenario is. If Halep wins Garcia is out.

Who was saying that the WTA finals were boring? They must be sleeping. Two incredible matches today. Semifinals finally set:

1. Karolina Pliskova vs Caroline Wozniacki
2. Caroline Garcia vs Venus Williams
