I've only not heard of Herazo Gonzalez and Lizarazo.

Anyway this event is high altitude. It has the highest number of double faults per match.

Stephens should be looking at her first final here you would think, but mentally Bogota is always a struggle, it's a battle against the conditions.

Jankovic is the defending champion and I expect her to defend her title. Ormaechea may be dangerous though.

What an interesting stat. Could explain why in the ATP, Ivo Karlovic won it last year. ;)

I wouldn't bet a penny on Stephens getting to a final. Any final. Anywhere. I'll believe it when I see it.

Jankovic is the defending champion and I expect her to defend her title. Ormaechea may be dangerous though.

Jankovic has been playing well in general lately, so I agree that she'll defend.

Bogota is much higher than Madrid.

Bogota is the sort of place, you go there and you will notice the difference just from walking around. You wouldn't particularly notice it off the tennis court in Madrid.

Comparison:
Bogota 2625 m (8612 ft)
Madrid 667 m (2188 ft)

This was Sharon Fichman on the altitude.

Sleeping in high altitude is what I imagine being on LSD is like. Slightly concerned my mind is capable of concocting such freaky dreams TBH

She withdrew from singles yesterday with illness, but played doubles today.

You knew more of the players, but I knew and I'm happy that Stephens is getting nowhere :snigger

This match between Jankovic and Johansson is a tight.
Glaring stat for the match so far is the DFs
Jankovic 10 Johansson 14.......apart from the break's of serve especially in the 1st set which Jankovic won 7-5.
As Ozza pointed out the altitude in Bogata is high, hence the DF's.

Sharon and Alexandra Panova of Russia won their 1/4 doubles match today so Sharon must be adjusting to the altitude. She is never without an interesting comment! I have had the pleasure of interviewing her, albeit briefly in Vancouver.

That must have been a struggle for JJ, Johansson not normally a huge threat.

JJ did struggle with these conditions.Johnansson did handle the conditions better

I think it is a case of JJ getting used to the high altitude.

Let's see how she play's in her next match

I have no coverage of this Tournament so that doesn't help my interest in it! Also I think JJ will win it again which doesn't help my interest in it! Sorry to all of JJ's fans  :cover
