I'm really happy to see Halep put two really good weeks together. I really hope she brings this same game to the US Open. She's fizzled in slams this year and it's time to put that to rest.
I think Serena got all the tuneup she needed in this last summer event before the Us Open. I'm glad she pared down her schedule and I'm actually glad she had that loss to Bencic. I think going into the Us Open undefeated all the way from the French Open would have been tons of pressure.
