[split] US Open Day 4: Thursday, August 28

The most interesting men's match of the day is probably

Kohly vs. Volley.

It is in Court 5. I think it is a televised court. Can some one confirm that.

Not an overwhelming lineup. Will be interested to see if Kyrgios can keep progressing, should be a decent match vs. Seppi.

Guessing it is too late to put Nishikori as a darkhorse? Assuming his health holds up he should at least make the 4th and would likely give Raonic a tough match if not win I think.

Ironically Nishikori didn't retire but his opponent Andujar did and unfortunately so did Llodra :(

An american has caused an upset. Sam Querry showed the door to GGL and moves
on to third round. :clap

Today Americans are 2 for 2 (not in the same manner as yesterday though).

Both Sam Querry and John Isner has won.

John Isner is slated to playe Philip Kohlschrbrier in the 3rd round. By pure coincidence
he played Kohly in exactly the same round the last two years at USO and lost on both
occasions. Do you think it will be any different this time?

Querry faces in Novak in R3.

I don't think either matchup will result in a difference.

Imagine if he plays to potential Novak should reduce Sam Querrey to lamb curry.

Novak's had two matches and played with very good form in both... he is looking so much sharper than he did in either Toronto or Cinci.

Jo looked good today too.

^ Nice. Didn't actually watch either as I expected them to be one sided affairs but good to hear they're playing well. Next match I'll watch will be Kyrgios v Seppi. Interested to see how far Kyrgios goes. He has a sore arm though.

I am not surprised by the fact that Querrey won today. Although he has been very underwhelming for a while, he made it to R3 and R4 at the USO a couple of times before. At the same time, GG Lopez never made it past the second round here.
For some reason, GG Lopez has been less successful in slams than on some of the smaller events.

I haven't seen Nole today, but I really like his score;)
He needs to take care of business the first week, as fast as possible, because he will have a lot on his hands in the second week.
